I’m not so confident about this movie considering that Neil Blomkamp has only made one truly good movie, District 9.

Ahmed Best was hired for a job and did that job well. The fact that he’s also done the voice of Jar-Jar in parody material (like Robot Chicken) makes me think he doesn’t take the attacks on the character personally, and he shouldn’t- he was given an inherently obnoxious character to play, that’s not on him.

Random anecdote: a friend of mine went to school with Ahmed Best. She nearly died when she heard the Jar-Jar voice because Best apparently created that voice and speech pattern to drive their band teacher bugfuck insane. That he could make such an infamously legendary character just doing the exact deliberately…

I’ll give Ahmed Best credit — he did well. He (and the CG team) created a character so legitimately and believably annoying that we all hated him. We didn’t laugh at how he looked or his poor effects or a poorly-acted voice, we just held disdain for him as we would any other actual annoying character.

He would fit right in with Barry and team, plus, He’s a police officer.

God I hope not. I love Squirrel Girl and I’d love to see a live-action version, but not Amy Schumer. She’s fine for her type of comedy, but I don’t see that matching up at all with SG.

My favorite Squirrel Girl moment was when she tried to talk Robbie Baldwin (aka Speedball) out of being Penance by pointing out how he wasn’t responsible for starting Civil War and basically making fun of how stupid the whole crossover was in general.

Oh dear god they’re going to do Onslaught. Let’s pray that the Fantastic Four movie bombs so Marvel can get the movie rights back so we don’t have to see this atrocity on screen. Plus, then Marvel can get Matt Smith to play Reed Richards. Who wouldn’t wanna see that?
