Re: Speed Limits

... and when you factor in that “all these taxes” do not actually cover the cost of the roads. Bottom line is that America’s addiction to automobiles is expensive.

My point was that brake pads last twice as long in EVs and that they have significantly smaller maintenance costs - hence why the cost of ownership of a Model 3 is less than a Honda Accord. If you can live with the range issues (which is a big “if”, I recognize), it is well known that the TCO on a BEV is less than ICE

“The only thing a BEV lacks from an ICE vehicle is the engine itself.”

A bit tangential, but one interim option that is not currently used by many is to have an EV for the daily commute and to hire a vehicle for vacations. In fact, some dealerships will allow you to borrow an ICE vehicle from them when needed if you purchase an EV.

Going to walk around the rabbit hole of U.S. Government economics, but it can be reasonably argued that it does come from thin air, actually. We borrow the vast majority of U.S. debt from ourselves. Just an FYI.

I also like the possibility that the battery packs could be upgraded to higher density options as battery tech improves.

To be fair, “Autopilot” can only be engaged during the safest miles of a trip. Technically, we should expect accidents during non-autopilot miles driven to get worse as the easy miles are taken over by Tesla’s system.

Definitely go get your flu (and covid booster) shot. However, there are some important reasons that strongly indicate this will be another “blink and you’ll miss it” flu season:

It’s 2021. Motives are incidental.

Couldn’t Razer simply take the installer download offline to solve this until they get the non-buggy version ready?

I want to vote for a ballot measure that ends all ballot measures.

The Corvette and NSX are quite distinct automobiles and I suspect are cross-shopped about as often as a Camaro and an M3.

This is an excellent take and also may underscore why Honda was first betting big on HFC (hydrogen fuel cells) as the replacement to their ICE model.

Technically true, though there are lossless formats (Apple Lossless, for example) that typically reduce 1411 CD quality to below that rate.

Perhaps, but virtually all of that supposed evidence is missing in this post.

22mpg says otherwise. They might not want the Maverick comparison (for this obvious reason) but Hyundai could learn a great deal from Ford since they need a hybrid (and perhaps a full EV) version.

Was a fave of mine, too, until I watched Seaspiracy on Netflix. That typed — they regularly have quirky and unique vehicles, and embracing this fugly fascinating looking SUV fits their mold.

This is very tangential (my apologies) but, if the U.S. is going to truly hit the CO2 reduction goals, isn’t this going to happen to every ICE out there in the future?
