I think that giving Clinton the nomination *is* throwing the election to the Republicans.

I was still human back then.

I understand that they’re businesses. It’s just yet another illustration of what’s happened to business in general over the last couple decades. It’s about thinking long term.

There used to be a time when if you bought something, you owned it.

I don’t have a problem with GMO technology. I have a problem with all the things that go hand in hand with it: Monoculture, prophylactic use of pesticides, consolidation of control by a handful of agribusiness, the clusterfuck that is IP law, the side effects of releasing trillions of seeds of a single genetic strain

Because Star Trek wasn’t just a cultural success, it was the economic success that the entertainment industry should be striving for.

Jesus that looks fucking awful.

Heavy cloud cover everywhere within 4 hours drive the past two days and expected tonight as well.

Which may be something you can plan around- If you’re planning a major purchase within the year, and have a choice of amortizing over time or deducting it all at once, you can use that to offset the taxes on two bonuses.
