What's crazy is that the incident she is referring to probably happened 60+ years ago. The changes she has seen in the world are crazy to think about.

There is a 7th advantage. Any serious terrain will rip that hideous front bumper off once and for all. This thing is not off-road capable.....the XJ is. 4-wheel independent suspension and gobs of plastic body cladding don't equal off-road performance. Unibody or not, the XJ can be made into a real off-road rig. …
This is what I immediately thought of also. But for me, it doesn't remind me of a modern MB. The grill reminds me a lot of the 560sec
We did an in-car re-ring on an '84 Civic I had back in high school. We had just reinstalled the pistons/rods and I was buttoning up the bottom end. After torquing the last oil pan bolt, I got out from under the car and saw the oil pump sump sitting on the workbench. UGH!
"Mercedes is touting their new “energizing” hot massage function, reverse-flow seat ventilation fans....."
"Design flaw causes Honda vehicles to become intermittently safer, despite driver inputs."
It would be a lot funnier if boost went to 11.
Engaging launch control (or turning traction control off) usually involves about 20 too many button presses.
What boggles me is that this car has fewer switches/buttons than most economy cars. It almost seems like the driver doesn't have a lot of choice over modes for driving and what not. Is this a "set it and forget it" hypercar?
It honestly sounds like a clapped out Honda Civic DX with a fart can to me. It was slow to rev and didn't include any of the ultra-desirable turbo whoosh.
I am sure this was the plan all along, but its a clever bit of marketing when VW is "responding to consumer demand" and decides to bring the car over.
I'm trying to figure out why the hidden rear wheels are way more interesting looking than the ones you actually can see.
My uncle worked as a Ford designer in the mid-50's and I proudly display his concept drawing of the Edsel in my room. It may not have been the high water mark in Ford's past, but it was a significant car none the less.
Hey, at least they used the same car for the entire testing. That's more than you can say of Ferrari.
I'm not a big fan of the midrange monster turbo 4-bangers. Sure, drivability around town is great, but whats the fun of driving a motor that falls flat on its face after 5k rpm? I'd much rather see 258hp and 220ft/lbs of torque.
When you look at the totality of this season (minus the Africa special,) it is pretty disappointing. Perhaps it is because a good portion of it was shot in the US all at once, but a lot of the former magic just wasn't there. So far, my fav. segment this season has been the Kia Cee'd review. Everything else has been…
Back in the '80's, a right side mirror was actually an OPTION on a Honda Ciivic. I always used to chuckle at Hondas with only one side mirror.
Best episode of the season by far. Last week was awful, but they have redeemed themselves today. I thoroughly enjoyed the episode start to finish.
I vote for the Weinermobile.
If you top the battery off at each charging station, there is literally nothing you could do to NOT make it, aside from driving at double the posted speed limit. CNN is already on the 2nd leg with plenty of range.
