You still recommended doing a "long reformat" over a "quick one" saying it would "remove your old file system", it does nothing more to remove your file system than a quick format, but you allude to it giving more security.
No one mentioned it, but I like Softmaker office. Their older versions are free, they come with a "portable" version, and I find the compatibility / speed is faster than Open / Libre Office.
