That speech was absolutely the pivotal scene in the entire film, as far as I’m concerned. It continues to blow me away that Hauer just came up with it.

It looks great but I struggle to see why that film was necessary. I just think if something is so beautiful, you should just leave it alone and make another film

It basically is a 2 year old Samsung :)

lol, literally yesterday I said to a co-worker, “Oh, you finally switched to Android!”. She had just bought the new iphone X...

I have a three year old Samsung and I could not give less of a shit what anybody thinks about it.

I have a 4 year old Samsung that everybody thinks is a 2 year old Samsung.

Win/win.

Because it differs from yours? Gotcha. What a panoramic worldview.

I’m not one to quarrel with my favorite and most respected poster around here, but I think that stat is more telling of how much box office is front loaded these days.

Yeah, but the lowest viewer rated of the Star Wars saga, plus the bombing in the second largest movie going nation will give them pause... I mean, movies are flops because they “don’t make as much money as they should have” nowadays, not because they don’t make money period.

It was always going to make money as a Star Wars movie. But to finish only slightly above Rogue One and 300 mil short of TFA (domestic - 700 worldwide) has to be very short of expectations.

I have seen some chinese critic reviews that in short are 100% more honest then the obviously paid for critic reviews here in the West as they are far more inline with those results you see on RT (yeah yeah i know) and other sites that have both critic & punters reviews. The movie was just plain crap covered with some

So all the arguing about whether TLJ was good or not can end with the fact that TLJ caused Disney to not brand their next Star Wars movie as a Star Wars movie in China.

even with that obvious plot twist of having the guy in glasses klutz around and throw the journey off course.

The “better bridge to the right” is what they replaced THIS ONE with. Once they pulled the rails off the original bridge people started driving on it. Get it now?

I thought the same thing about the new bridge to the right, but that new bridge is a railroad bridge, on which cars cannot traverse.

Bright was better than Last Jedi. Don’t @ me, dummies.

Yuss. I don’t hate him either, at least, not as an actor. He hasn’t the widest range but he sure gives it his all. I believe that he has run more miles on film as a fictional character than any other actor ever. What Esther Williams is to water, Tom Cruise is to sprinting.

Yeah, if you hate Tom Cruise (I don’t), the first hour of Edge of Tomorrow was pretty satisfying.

This kind of movie doesn’t ask for a downer ending. Besides, the movie gave me so many glorious Tom Cruise crushings/headshots/tentacle-flailings that I was pretty satisfied on that score.

Apparently I’m the only one in the comments (thus far, of the two posted) that really liked “Edge of Tomorrow/Live Die Repeat” (which, honestly, was one of the worst changes ever made when it came to the physical/digital release of the movie, why change the freaking title). I thought it was really great. That being
