Yeah I understand the overwhelming demand for it, but if this continues people are just going to start shrugging. I got in yesterday morning just before they closed the doors, and to be honest it's quite boring because no one is on it. But I'm hopeful that that will change.

Just FYI the plural of medium is media, not mediums. :)

A fair point. I think if the games are well designed and sufficiently asymmetric so that playing the controller offers kids a totally different experience than playing the Wiimote so that some kids might favor one or the other it'll work. But it depends completely on the game design.

Also possible that a large portion of iPhones that have been brought to the Genius Bar are brand new, which is why they've never been synced. The folks owning them need help setting them up to begin with. That would definitely increase that proportion.

I agree with this. A good union supports ALL workers, not just those of one company. Still even the biggest unions start somewhere. The next step after unionizing his store would probably be to attach themselves to a larger group like SEIU so they can help other retailers unionize and improve their lives.

(double post)

To build on this thread, my question is why isn't he fighting for the rights of the other retail workers in other stores? I love unions (been a member of one for 7 years), and solidarity is the name of the game. Apple retail workers are at the top of a retail food chain that goes all the way down to minimum wage

What about GC controller ports? I still use those on Wii games from Smash Bros Brawl to Mario Kart, not to mention the occasional VC console game. I guess I could get by on the Classic, but it'll make Brawl a nightmare for a few months while I get used to it.

When I moved to Austin, the allergies kicked my ass. I never had allergies in Los Angeles or Phoenix where I lived previously. But Austin was another beast. I started working local honey into my diet, a teaspoon at a time, and my allergies have vanished. I haven't had an attack in two months, and it's prime season! It

Not surprised. Contrary to what many think, OBL wasn't an evil Cobra Commander-like supervillain. He had very specific goals. He was more interested in ruining the US economically than causing lots of death for no reason. Destroying WTC was an attempt to get the US to spend a ton of money getting bogged down in Middle

My wife is 5 years younger than me. Then again I am 30. Acceptability of age difference varies as people get older. Hell no I wouldn't have dated her if she was 12 and I was 17. And she's thankful for that.

Homegirl has a video of her playing Picard's flute theme from "The Inner Light" episode of TNG. Baller.

Well that's not exactly true, the law was broken in Idaho when he engaged in sexual chats with a minor. The chats themselves are illegal, even if the minor is actually a police operative pretending to be a minor.

Another good example is the map layout in Twilight Princess. Like in Snowpeak, you would struggle through the snow once, then fight a bunch of Twilight monsters that would generate a warp point. From then on you just had to warp there. There was no connection between, Hylia, Snowpeak, Hyrule field, Death Mountain,

I was the supervising sound editor on the show "Psych" for all of season 4. Previous to my arrival the sound team had been using an iDisk for file sharing. The supervisor (me) would be on the mix stage making last minute fixes, but occasionally we'd need a complicated fix that the effects editor across town would have

I think I mean branching storylines more than procedural content - just a way that Zelda can be played over and over again without the same old script every time. It's not the story that we go for, it's the gameplay and the sense of exploration. Whether that's Spore-style user-generated stuff or Mass-Effect style

I dunno. It's hard, after so much put on the line to get people to buy into motion gaming, that they'd go back to a sit-down controller for their next gen. That would deem motion gaming a failure. Maybe the controller is still the Wiimote, but this touch controller is something extra - it runs the sensor bar, has a

Plus a million. It's not the trash talking, it's the overt racism and sexism. It is NEVER okay, and the people who run these events should make people who say these things forfeit wins/pay fines to play again.

I remember in original Zelda you basically got dropped in the middle of the game world with absolutely nothing. if you wanted to try you could get most everywhere, at least if you got the Ladder, you could at least go to level 8 early and get your ass handed to you. I want that feeling of exploration back in Zelda.

The problem for me isn't even the art style or any of those surface-level choices. The problem is that it's the SAME GAME as TP, as WW, as OoT, as all these games. There's nothing to indicate anything different. It's the same overly linear hand-holding mechanic where you find three MacGuffins then find 5-6 more
