I don't understand this article. Nintendo's focus on presenting a simpler more accessible and fun looking playing experience came at the expense of cutting edge tech like HD and 5.1 sound, better online experiences, etc. and analysts called that a MASSIVE risk.

I know a kid who worked on this. He showed me a picture of it on his cameraphone and then I saw it here. Nice!

@MaWeiTao: Because free markets without regulations solve everything and markets and private companies have our best interests at heart, otherwise they would go out of business. Also markets never fail.

@zenneth: IIRC, his physique in T3 was fake - his old T2/T1 body (or a model's) CG'ed to his head. That beach photo is from the T3 era.

@Bloodoflamb: Hear hear. I loved getting lost in original Zelda. The world seemed so big and vast, and to this day I feel like I don't know where everything is on that map. I want that feeling in the new Zelda. Looks like it won't be happening, I'll just be trundling along getting the three minor doohickeys before the

Simpler maps? Who wants simpler maps? I want to get lost in a massive Hyrule sandbox, not trudging along in a linear game where I can only go in one direction because it's easy to follow.

@Zapix: Personally I like the balance. I bet they needed something like that to make the world easier to draw with smaller load times and to look more fleshed out. TP was jaggedy and overly reliant on texture maps and rough polygons. WW was too simple. A good balance between the two and you can have a bigger world

@sabrage: seriously. That HUD is really aggressive. They need to make that 50% smaller at least.

I don't care about the motion thing. I'm sure it'll end up working just fine. The graphics are very cool, I like the mix of the TP engine with WW cel shading without so much cartooning.

Doesn't matter that he missed, the English fan took a dive anyway.

@Vonhert: Uh-huh. USC grads and Marines and what not need their labels to find each other and play games together and have something in common. But gays? All they want to do is have creepy sex webcam funtime together, right? They don't need to find each other to play any other games together with something in common

@Beanis: Is this comment directed at me or at someone else's comment?

@Char Aznable: Exactly. There's no difference between promoting your sexual orientation and promoting your favorite sports team or science fiction fandom or branch of the military.

I still haven't read anyone in the comments who can explain the difference between a gamertag that labels you as gay vs. a gamertag that labels you as a Star Trek fan or a USC grad or a Marine or anything else not having to do with sexuality.

@Marcelo: Just to be clear, only the first paragraph of that was directed at the person I replied to. The rest is a more general rant.

@idlevagabond: So by that rationale, you would have a problem with someone calling themselves "ladiesman99" on XBL? After all, they're identifying themselves as straight and thus interrupting your treasured gameplaying time with thoughts of their straightness.

Remember that scene in X-Men 2 where Nightcrawler is talking to Mystique and asks her why she continues to choose to look blue and scaly even though she could look totally normal? Her response was "Because we shouldn't have to."

tl;dr
