Women have greater opportunities to date, mate, and get married, and they can do so with far less effort than men. I believe that, and I think that most people would as well. I think you are being willfully obtuse, and you are a blatantly denying your unearned female privilege.

I think that man is being chivalrous. He is minimizing his own pain and maximizing the pain of others. I think that men will often employ this strategy since being morose and self pitying will kill a man's confidence and effectively end his chances of attracting a woman.

Honestly, I think that statement is so obvious that if you disagree, the burden of proof is on your shoulders. Chronically single men outnumber chronically single women.
