Actually Nvidia puts out (or did) a few optimized ones a month and has released a feature to let you map touch features to the controls. Plus a lot of android games natively work wth controllers now. Realistically the Shield (portable) is stronger (hardware wise). I would say it's had a better year of releases than the Vita as well (though most obviously work on other android devices).
