An EZ Pass in NY (where I live) is $16. I mean, come on. If that’s not worth your time, then your time isn’t very valuable. (Not to mention that, yes, as you said, you’ll make back that $16 eventually, even if you rarely drive.)

Also, you’re wrong about what “most people” think. We choose the shortest line at the store to save three minutes, we want the fastest internet to save us two seconds per click, we own microwaves to save us two minutes for boiling water for tea. So “most people” want to save time.
That's fine. I'm talking about all the local plates I see here in the Northeast.
If you live between Boston and DC and take a trip of 75 miles or more, it's a lot more than seven minutes. And again, it's free! It's just dumb not to get one.
I know. Why haven’t we figured out a way to have roads fix and maintain themselves, right?
I live in NYC and still have one, because, you know, SOMETIMES I LEAVE NYC TO VISIT PEOPLE WHO DON’T LIVE IN NYC OR IKEA.
Lots of places don’t have EZ Pass Express Lanes. At some, you have to slow to between 5 and 20 MPH.
I don’t think this is true anymore. But I live in NYC, so I’m not 100% sure. Still, it wouldn’t account for all the people I see without EZ Pass.
I don’t know where you’re talking about, but in the Northeast, it’s not “a minute.” (Also, EZ Pass sends an email when it detects an expiring credit card.) But whatever, keep paying cash. Keeps the EZ Pass lines even shorter for me!
But why? It’s free, and saves tons of time on road trips.
But you already are, so don’t worry about it. That shouldn’t be a reason for not getting EZ Pass. (Not to mention all the security cameras everywhere. Dude, we’re all being tracked. Unless you want to Unabomber yourself in a shack in the woods, just accept it.)
Why wouldn’t you have money in your account? All you have to do is set it to automatically fund when the balance is low.
I know there are some reasons. But there are far too many people who simply don’t have one. Just odd.
What fine? I’ve had EZ Pass for 15 years. Never gotten a fine.
Where do you live? Do you ever travel? (But jeez, it’s worth it for even ONE road trip. It’s free!)
Nah. I’ve looked. Tons of local plates.
Nah. I’ve looked. Tons of local plates.
Nah. I’ve looked at license plates of EZ Pass here in the Northeast. Packed with local plates.
Ah, the “tracking” thing. What kind of phone do you have?
Speaking of EZ Pass:
