Leaf spring rear suspensions, woefully under-powered engines, clunky transmissions, lousy seats, cheezy interiors, and some exterior "trim packages" that were truly ghastly.

As I said to the other guy, he isn't talking about China or Saudi Arabia. In Europe, they get by just fine without monstrous pickups and SUVs. Farmers and construction workers get by just fine with Ford Transits and small trucks.
A box, is a box, is a box...zzz
I thought we agreed to leave the obnoxiousness of the Excursion dead at the beginning of last century.
That's sexy in the same way that this:
Problem Solved, buy late 80's and 70's cars:
One of my favorite cars to drive and look at. I've owned ten of them and each one was its own adventure, but I loved them all. Not particularly economical or practical, but nothing looked like it and nothing ever will. And, with a 4-speed and that wide stance, it's a fun little ride.
My Dad had one of these in '78. I thought it was a sports car, 'cause it had a red paint job & the letter X in the name! And, because I was 6 yrs old. Now, it's just 'cause it had the 390 "go-pack" that I still like it. Nevermind that the back window weighed a thousand pounds, or that it would shatter in a 2mph…
I'm going to add the Taurus SHO into the fray. I had a 92, last year for the manual, and it really was a surprise how much fun it was. The Yamaha tuned 6 was a free spinning marvel, and with only a little help, they would spin out to 8k! They handled well enough to embarrass true sports cars when driven well, and…
1989 Thunderbird Super Coupe. It had an awesome name, handled better than Mustangs of that time, looked great and had a Super Charged 3.8 L that put down V8 performance figures. Who doesn't love supercharger whine?
Prior message sent from my phone. This was the photo I tried to include.
A Yugo is basically a small Fiat. As such, there's still some of that Latin brio in there.
I always got a chuckle out of this one.
Street racing is stupid. The cop should not have waited until 120 to pull him over. And we need to cut down on the use of unmarked cars, and they should never be used for patrol duty.
This happens all the time in Florida, but with one key difference: the unmarked cop initiates the race. In Orlando, there are several completely unmarked Mustang GT's that will drive around and look for sports cars. Then they pull up next to one, rev the engine and take off a little to get the driver to bite. If they…
But a Porsche has been the benchmark for years, and its been taken by a oil-burning Mazda with 4 doors and a boot! Its like the Nissan GTR to, well, Porsche, Ferrari, etc etc. on the road, and SEATs oil-burners to the rest of the BTCC and WTCC in europe.
And yet, loads of people bought them.

"Perhaps saddest of all, this crash occurred during a national Model T club that was meeting in Kanab with more than 200 owners in the area for the week. Needless to say, this is the last thing that any group of car enthusiasts wants to happen when they get together."
