I ordered the PC collector's edition from Newegg and they show that they haven't even shipped it yet. I've always loved Newegg, but I doubt I will ever pre-order anything from them again.

There aren't really any advantages to getting it for steam over GOG. I'd go with whatever distributor you want to support with your dollar. I like valve and the GOG people, so I don't think you can go wrong either way. Whatever you end up choosing, I'm sure you'll enjoy the game.
