Tidus gets too much of a bad rap because of a single scene. His voice acting wasn’t as bad as people make it out. The infamous laughing scene was supposed to be bad laughing, thus a reason for it’s existance.

If I was putting on my game designer hat, I’d guess the cap exists to prevent players from grinding a ton against easy bots for fast credits. If I’m putting on my evil publisher hat, I’m keeping the cap so folks can run on the treadmill longer and get thirsty for our new, revamped microtransactions or whatever.

I miss the game so much but I was also in my early twenties with tons more free time than I have now in my thirties. No other MMO has ever challenged me the way this game has and pre-nerf CoP completion is still counted as the greatest video game achievement I’ve ever experienced.

I think what he’s saying is that there was artistry behind the way the game designed it’s textures and set it’s lighting so that you could fill in the gaps with your mind.
