The new boomerang design is actually one of my favorite things! I love that you have to catch it. And you can use it as a melee weapon too in a pinch.

Incorrect. Don’t want to say more due to spoilers, but the Master Sword does not break. The game includes what I consider a very clever way of allowing you to use the Master Sword quite liberally without completing negating the need for multiple weapons.
Nearly every enemy carries a weapon that you can steal after you kill it. You also have bombs and arrows to help with killing said enemies (FYI, bombs are AWESOME for early game in preserving your weapons).
LOL this actually sounds a lot like my wife and I. Now, don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t classify my wife as a “non-gamer” necessarily. She’ll play the crap out of Mario Kart, Halo, or the older Zelda titles, and it’s not unusualy before BOTW for her to spend 2-3 hours a week playing video games. But she’d never touch…
I had some similar thoughts while playing Zelda BOTW this week. Fighting one of the Guardian bosses, I had an immensely difficult time getting my timing perfect. Probably died 10+ times. I thought to myself. Geez. I don’t think 10 year old me could have ever beat this. I’m enjoying the crap out of BOTW, but a small…
I named my first one Silver (a la Lone Ranger), but then when I caught my second one (a blue horse) my wife jokingly said I should name it ‘Blue’ and stick with the colors. I agreed, but because it’s the same name as the Raptor from Jurassic World. :P
Seriously. Though it has provided some good entertainment for my wife while she watched me play and I kept saying “Ooh, a rock!” and she laughs when I find nothing. “Ooh, another rock!” :D
Agreed. Ancient Cores seem to be the toughest, and only come from live guardians, I think. Or at least, that’s been our experience. Also...very random. I ended up with 3 Cores somewhat earlish in the game (shortly after I finished the 1st Divine Beast). My wife has played probably 8-10 hours more than me, and…
Yeah, I know, it’s easier said than done. Especially when you have the situation my wife ran into while playing the other day, where it rained for like 1.5 days straight. We started to wonder if she was in another area like Zora’s Domain, where it was supposed to rain constantly. But there was clearly a shrine that…
It’s all about what you allow yourself to feel. If you choose to make the best out of the situation, and see what the game may be trying to encourage you to do differently, rather than just get frustrated and walk away for a few minutes, you may find things and enjoy things you wouldn’t have otherwise.
All these replies saying that the rain is a PROBLEM that must be fixed...
If you go around to the side of the mountain where the Hinox was sleeping (opposite of the ocean-facing side of that mountain), it’s very easy to climb to the Bokoblin camp even in the rain. Then there’s not too much more of a climb from there. Look for small areas where you might be able to pause for a moment to…
Thinking through all the possible solutions I’ve come up with or seen others post, I’ve yet to determine an actual logical reason for doing it any other way than what Nintendo did.
It’s the combination of things. The developers are the first to tell you that they looked at things like Skyrim for inspiration. So there’s no denying that.
LOL I’m having the exact same issue. I’ve played plenty of Nintendo games, but on the Wii, where there wasn’t a traditional ABXY layout anyways. After a week, I’m finally breaking the Xbox habits though, and feeling more consistent with Zelda.
I STILL cannot figure out people who didn’t like Thor: The Dark World. I love every bit of that movie (well, maybe except for the Jane/Thor relationship, which THANK GOD we’re done with). The action and pacing is awesome. The brotherly interaction between Thor and Loki is spot on. Their chemistry is FAR better than…
Always remember that the people with negative things to say are usually the first to speak up. The people who are having no problems with it are too busy playing games, to be worried about posting on websites much.
Ha, we didn’t even try it in Handheld/Tabletop mode. My wife and I had a hard enough time on our 65" screen, not losing my character, or getting confused between what blocks were what. That said....we played through 3 planets had a blast.
That’s what I bought. :)
Heh, I hadn’t thought about it recently, but I did buy my first PS1 for FF and Chrono Cross.
