I’m not surprised, and frankly, I’m really excited by it.

I still have my ‘spice’ orange Gamecube controller! I couldn’t even tell you the last time I used it, but I can’t bear to part with it. :)

Ugh....I have an Xbox1S, as most of the ‘exclusive’ titles I wanted to play over the last few years were on that platform. And we already have a Switch pre-ordered. But I WANT TO PLAY THIS. Trying to work out a short-term swap with a buddy of mine who has a PS4, but wants to play Gears of War 4. Maybe we’ll trade

Exactly this. I put off and put off upgrading to the Wii U, hoping they would figure out the amazing ways to use the game pad. So many GREAT missed opportunities. A Metroid game where you held up the game pad to the screen to enter X-Ray vision mode? They did it with the simple port of the one Batman game. But I’d

Try doing some math first. Reported cost for 30 second ad for the Super Bowl: $5 million dollars. Reported pre-sales of the Switch available on March 3: 2 million. So by not doing that ad, they could give $2.50 to each Switch owner. Cue eye-rolling.

The more I see about this Switch launch, the more I’m convinced Nintendo is forcing an early soft launch. I think they found themselves wanting to put Zelda on the Switch as a launch title, but they didn’t want to delay Zelda’s release until Fall 2017. So they are soft-launching the console now. They know that they

Welcome to every other new generation of console purchases, I suppose. I used to have 4 Gamecube controllers. I ended up owning 4 Wii remotes instead. And I’ve had 4 Xbox controllers at one time or another.

Yeah....exactly....”not currently compatible” is very different from “won’t be compatible”. You basically repeated the point I was making, and then still jumped to the wrong conclusion. Besides, compatibility with Wii U controllers is not necessary if you can play the games with the included JoyCons. Everyone at the

Reading through the comments here is more disheartening than the “we have nothing to announce at this time” answers.

But the concept of the Wii, particularly the motion controls, was a completely foreign idea at that time. Nintendo HAD to include something to demonstrate the functionality of the system. That’s not so much the case any more.

They haven’t said “no” yet. Easily possible that a software update would allow it work with wireless controllers, or a USB adapter would let you plug it directly into the dock.

Better processor, better controllers, better portability....lots of better things. Frankly, a $20 pack-in like Wii Sports isn’t a big deal. I’m not planning to buy 1-2-Switch right away, so I’m glad the price of the console isn’t artificially inflated just in include a pack-in game. Let me buy Zelda and Bomberman like

Well that’s easy. It doesn’t have a disc drive, or a cartridge slot that will fit the physical copies of games from any older systems.

The Joy Cons only charge when attached to the Switch itself, or when attached to one of the Charging peripherals they’ve already announced: the Charging Grip or the Charging Dock. Doesn’t seem like there is any way to attach a cable to the Joy Con at all.

I think there’s a pretty good chance they will provide cloud save functionality down the road.

Most of this doesn’t bother me....except the bit about the touch screen. I’m on board with you there. I mean, they have a perfect set up here to be able to port Wii U games, and have them fully functional the way the Wii U used the touch screen and the TV at the same time. So, basically, ANY Wii U game that required

I feel the same way about Blizzard though. I loved the Starcraft and Warcraft series. But for me, MMOs and FPS are not exactly my cup of tea. So Blizzard’s focus on Overwatch and World of Warcraft the last several years leaves me saying “meh” most of the time they make announcements lately. Not every company can

I pre-ordered mine in person at a GameStop store. They had a flyer that sounds similar to what you’re saying. But these flyers had the individual price for each item. It kind of looked like a ‘bundle’ from the pictures on the flyer, but it seemed pretty clear to me that it was more like a suggestion of what stuff to

This is ridiculous. You sound like a petulant child. The purpose of journalists is not to report every single rumor. Do you report on the toppings ordered on pizza that’s delivered to the white house? Because I’m certain that IS HAPPENING on a frequent basis there.
A journalists purpose is to expose the truth. Any one

Without too much of a spoiler, how does it relate to the over-arching story of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus? Hard to tell from any of the details so far. Is it a ‘spiritual’ successor like Shadow was supposed to be, or does it tie in more closely?
