It’s really frustrating how service workers defend the tipping system when alternatives that include vacation/PTO, sick time, steady wages, 401(k)s, etc., you know, the trappings of regular jobs, are presented.  I understand the allure of cash in the pocket is strong, but it’s difficult to be very sympathetic when we

Could you describe the ruckus, sir?

His comment: “Ohh, I don’t like beer”.

Great tip!  Just be careful with vinegar and granite countertops.  They have a sealant/coating that can be damaged by vinegar, so it’s best not to use vinegar on those.

So you put the kitties into pairing mode?

I’m sure these comments will be filled with only the most enlightened thoughts, advancing humankind with each golden syllable.

Don’t forget to tip the escalator! $10/trip is the standard.

It might not be obvious to people who haven’t worked a drive-thru before, so thanks for sharing.

If you have a gay coworker, please never let the words “You’d just love my hairdresser/nephew/neighbor’s friend’s cousin” leave your mouth.

I’d love for us to be able to move to a confirmation based system like many other countries have.  Your workplace and financial institutions report like normal, then the IRS would send you their calculations.  Then you confirm or update with new data.  Of course, H&R Block, Intuit/TurboTax, et. al. wouldn’t like that.

Just be careful around finished/sealed surfaces with the vinegar. It can sometimes eat/etch the coating on granite countertops, for example. Your stove is probably fine, but forgetting what you have on the cloth and putting it on the counter could be a problem. Great cleaning tip!

Don’t feel like a fool for believing in someone.  That’s a good trait to have.  If you were wrong, and a lot of us were, oh well.  Pick up and carry on being a little wiser.  You were disappointed because they were a disappointment, not because you didn’t immediately assume the worst about a person.

I have MoviePass for myself and my partner at the $9.95 a month price. I don’t think I’ll be taking them up on the annual subscription at this time, though. I haven’t had any issues with the service, but if they happen to go tits up, we’d be out for the rest of the subscription plus the processing fee. The push for

I don’t think you understand. America is exceptional and what works in literally every other country couldn’t possibly work here. And there are many things that applies to. We’re just that good. /s

While it’s definitely not kid friendly, from an adult perspective the Scottish Peppa Pig shorts are hilarious. Great for poking a little fun amongst grownups, but the tips in the article should help minimize little eyes seeing what they shouldn’t.

It’s a Bro!

Please don’t perpetuate the myth that servers are taxed on a percentage of their receipts. That’s not how taxation in the US works.

I thought this was just from 3rd Rock from the Sun. Who would do this???

I agree with almost everything in your article except for that. While it might be nice to be in line at the start of boarding, if the contract of carriage says that the doors close at 15 minutes before departure and you’re there 25 minutes before, you should be golden. WOW was squarely in the wrong denying you
