I think the implication is that if he was being violent when they are trying to sort things out, then violence is okay in self defense. Being violent or instigating violence right off the bat is a good way to make yourself seem like a tremendous douche even if you were in the right to start with.

I am shocked and appalled at the lack of humanity from Kotaku readers here. The parents are just in grief. Nobody expects the manga to actually be banned. But now people are blaming the parents with no knowledge of the surrounding circumstances or events that led up to the suicide.
