Running as Green or Independent would be antithetical to his original reason for running as a Democrat. If his supporters are so keen to remind others that he’s taking it to the convention per his promise, then they should also remember that he ran as a Democrat so as to not split the vote in the GE.

I’m not a Democrat, so I don’t feel any particular allegiance to the DNC. That being said, there are two major parties in the US, and one of their two candidates will be President.
