Agreed. Most of the handwringing stems from the idea of a theoretical Pence administration that exists in a vacuum, with no hindrance from what his former boss did. In reality, such an administration will be spending so much time trying to distance themselves from the sunken ship, and having nothing approaching

A) If the gesture of support is “meaningless” then what’s the point? Put up or shut up.

B) They lost slavery so they went to overtly racist laws. They lost overtly racist laws (though remember LGBTQ still face overtly discriminatory laws), so they went to covertly racist laws. They’re losing overtly racist speech and

We don’t know who did this and why so any speculation before that is unwarranted. That being said, crazy people are going to be crazy and trying to say some proximate cause is the thing we should focus on to prevent them, is like saying a faulty band-aid is the reason your 4 inch stab wound got infected. Part of any

Is it my turn to be that guy? It’s Scientific American, not America. Awesome article though.

Well a taped on sensor or one built into a regular pilot glove was what I was envisioning. However as someone who uses an O2 sensor at minimum twice a day (I have COPD and part of a long term monitoring study), I can tell you that cold fingers make a major difference.

And that’s without getting into the inherent biology. O2 sat sensors work by shining a light through your fingertip. They don’t work well when a body is reacting to cold and air pressure changes, because the first place your bloodflow starts to change is in your fingers and toes.

Even with an avionics ready hardened

She wouldn’t be bad, but I think Shannon Purser would be better, and she’s been campaigning hard.

I’ve been having a rough morning in the thinking department, and couldn’t stop mixing her up with Brie Larson while reading your post, so I had a “don’t you know she was picked to be Captain Marvel” reply half written. Glad I went to Google to set myself straight before writing it.

I’m still partly convinced that the only way they connect to the world is via television, and so Donald’s sense of what he can say and get away with closely mirrors that of a 70s-80s rich dude on tv. They honestly think these transparent scams work, and people believe them.

Sure, because substituting personal anecdote for scientific evidence is a fantastic idea. They don’t come up with side effects at random, they put them out there because it actually happens to significant numbers of people.

While not mentioned here, I seem to remember alcohol being involved. Helps to remember that there’s a reason they say don’t take benadryl (if that’s what it was) with alcohol.

It is a shame, I really wish they’d been able to finish the MMO that Overwatch grew out of.

In most states, adultery is a misdemeanor at best, and only if the spouse presses charges.

I’m only sad because for the victims, knowing a teacher got fired isn’t particularly relevant to how they feel. It’s the end of the year, a kid going on to the next grade doesn’t particularly care about what happens to their old teacher. It won’t do much to make their day to day life better is my point I guess.

The bulk of the discussion around the Trump administration since election day has centered on a simple question- are they inept or deliberately corrupt. To my mind as more shoes keep dropping, that question is irrelevant. It doesn’t matter why they’re fucking up, the fact that they keep fucking up is putting our

Eric is what you get when the Don Jr. clone goes back to the lab and asks them to clone him instead of his dad so he can have someone to boss around.

Me too, but that’s for a court to decide.

Most people around here know by now that it is technically legal, just as most of the things the family does. That’s one big way rich people stay rich, is by making as much of the shady stuff they want to do legal, or getting rid of the laws that stopped them. In cases like this it’s better not to equivocate about the

Not the point. There’s a reason this (and a lot of other) family foundations don’t even qualify to be on sites like Charity Navigator, they jack up the overhead so that most of the money raised goes to ‘operating costs’ and very little to the charity. The fact that the Trumps are paying those costs to their own
