IT'S BUILT INTO THE GAME, DUDE. The second you throw the game in the drive and attempt to play it, you're told you need to update the dashboard. Both the PS3 AND the 360 do it.

I thought it was a power tab.. boy, was I in for a hell of a fight. I beat the shit out of Lavos single handedly!

Untrue. I've been forced several times to update my system OS on my PS3 in order to play games.

Interesting thing about updates... if you don't update, you can't play the newest games. Sony (and other console manufacturers) are holding games ransom by forcing you to update.

Agreed. I don't play PC games but I have steam installed.
