You would actually need unequal length headers to account for the different exhaust tract lengths within the head to even out the pulses and create the I6 sound.

Honestly I feel like a big reason the car feels so connected is the NA response and linear power though. It makes it easy to push the car to its limits and balance it with the throttle in a way a turbo engine just can’t match with the elastic power delivery.
I suspect with this new engine it should be easy to get into…
A big reason why the BRZ is so light is because it doesn’t have a turbo. If they did add a turbo, it would likely end up 200-300lbs heavier than it is now and be right where a lot of those cars I mentioned are.
I just don’t get it. If you want a turbo, compact performance car you can buy any of the following:
The last rental I had smelled like straight pickle juice. Not just like “someone had McDonald’s or Chik Fil A and left the trash in the sun a couple hours.” but “someone spilled an entire jar of pickle juice in the carpet of this damn Passat.”
I’ve owned four 240SXes over the years and I concur. Old Nissans are extremely distinct and even though I haven’t owned one in years, I’ll bet you could plop me down in an 80s or 90s Nissan and I’d know right away.
That depends where you live. Where I’m at, we have a massive amount of fun trails and OHV areas, much of which is fairly open desert with good visibility where you can drive as fast as you have the courage for. I live literally 10 minutes from several of the access points to the biggest desert OHV area around here, so…
That’s a hard disagree from me on the looks. I think the One is dead sexy. I love the clean, flowing forms, interrupted by brutal and functional aero elements. It doesn’t hurt that it very much resembles a modern take on a CLK GTR.
Wasn’t it some ridiculous number like 360 or something?
Or the owners that sold their clean Saab 900s to Vampire Weekend only to watch them burn to the ground in their music video.
When I hop in either of my Golfs, I flick the display over to oil temp and don’t get on it hard or get fully into boost until I see the oil temps in the 180-190 range or so. Probably a bit paranoid, but I figure it can’t hurt to be a bit careful. As for waiting to leave the driveway, nah, as long as my windows are…
Teslas don’t receive the tax credit any longer, by the way.
Maybe it’s just because I see them every day, but the design doesn’t bother me at all, even if I’m not in love with it. But there are rumors of a facelift for 2023 for both the Sonata and Palisade. I read that online, by the way, and I have no inside information there unfortunately.
Exactly. If you go dollar-for-dollar, it competes with other 200hp cars, which don’t come with an LSD. Even the Jetta GLI doesn’t have an LSD.
Fair enough. Well I’m sure you’ll be happy with the GTI. MK7/MK7.5s are great cars across the board. I’m sure the MK8 will be more of the same, as long as you can deal with all touch controls.
Looks are purely subjective. I think it actually looks great; much cleaner than the 10th gen.
I’m hardly one to turn someone away from VW. I own both a MK7 GTI and a MK7 Golf R, and they’re fantastic cars. Obviously I love them if I own two. But I think you’re being too harsh on the Si. Sure it would be great if it…
I get that, but the point is it’s entirely possible and even likely that the Si will be cheaper than a Sport Touring. If you’re an enthusiast, why wouldn’t you pay less to get the LSD, upgraded suspension, and power bump(likely with bigger turbo for more potential)? In other words, the Si still has a place.
An LSD is more than just a tool for the track. They make a massive difference in handling in a FWD car, even on the street. That alone is worth whatever premium they charge for the Si.
This is the case in my area as well. Rust is not much of an issue around here, yet I rarely see 90s Fords. There’s still a small number of Rams believe it or not, enough that they’re not really a rarity, but I see numerous GMT400s driving around town on a daily basis.
Similar story with the Sante Fe XRT package. I’m actually a Hyundai salesman and I think the package is BS. It adds nothing of substance other than skid plates, and to be fair I didn’t look under one to see if they’re actually useful or not. But the rest of it is basically some blacked out wheels and trim, and “side…
