The part I am struggling with is the reaction I’ve seen from Bengals fans looking to justify the Burfict knee to Roethlisberger’s shoulder. There is a lot of “He was looking for leverage” being thrown around.

Not sure how one is seeking to get “leverage” after a tackle when the play is done and against a prone

And right next to work for me. Place is always packed... and always worth it.

All of this also, allegedly, stems from an article JTT wrote about Dez after his first game back against the Seahawks where JTT questioned Dez not getting more catches (coming back early from injury, being covered by Richard Sherman and getting throws from a 3rd string QB). They were just talking about it on Rusillo

While I am looking forward to the upcoming season for UGA, I would be lying if I didn’t say I was already looking ahead a lil’ bit to 2016 and having Jacob Eason. The QB controversy for this season is interesting in the sense they are placeholding for now.

I’ve always enjoyed the Orsillo/Remy combination in the booth for NESN and it pains me to see him leaving (although I am not entirely surprised). What was always best about Orsillo was his appreciation of the game without ever making the fan feel like baseball was a sacred temple or an indecipherable mystery (like way

You can see how this second system might provide some hope, with stories about our traditional criminal justice system’s failings feeling like a daily part of the news cycle. Surely universities—without the cash crunch of the legal system, but with an ideological commitment to fairness and openness and the

The level of pride exhibited in the all caps “AGAIN” about throwing the yoga mat across the gym is the weirdest thing about this story to me.

I’ve long wondered why we can’t have nice things... uhh, I mean... pitchers who hit better. I understand that they are asked to specialize once they hit college or the minors, but after a ton of youth baseball coaching, many times your best athletes are also your pitchers.

RGIII’s biggest problem isn’t always the core message of what he says, it’s either (a) how he expresses it or (b) the fact he expresses it at all. I expect elite level athletes to have an insane amount of self confidence in order to succeed... but good Lord, please don’t go into inordinate detail talking about it. If

I get torn on this kind of stuff with sports figures and the media. On the one hand, you want people to show some personality and not be robotic with endless cliched comments. Then again, when someone does show personality (or just loopiness), they get crushed or told to “stay in their lane”.

    Not agreeing with

To that point, why is it that the NFL gets that whole “it’s a privilege to play, not a right” song and dance seemingly 100X more than any other sport? Especially when it’s the sport with the shortest shelf life for the players, the most lingering injuries that impact total quality of life (and sadly, lifespan as well)

Would this also likely mean they would be asking for PSLs for the tickets as well? I like NFL football quite fine, thank you, but cannot imagine also chunking down that mortgage-like obligation to a PSL as well for a team-to-be-named-later for a stadium that does not exist just yet (absent the temporary options).

As a UConn fan, I like his swagger - I think he is trying to infuse some life into the program. But there are limits. From the same press conference when he was asked on his expectations for the team: “Win. ... We’re going to win every game. We’re going to play as 1 of the 4 team in the playoffs ... And win the

Except Jordan still wins the exchange because the shoes he's wearing are the Air Jordan 29 Lows, which he debuted at this camp.

All of this inevitably ratchets up the talk of getting back the Whalers here in Hartford. I want them back, without question... but at these prices? And with the way every pro sports league and teams wrings insane concessions out of local governments to subsidize multi-millionaires and billionaires? I sometimes stop

This is particularly rich to consider given how up-in-arms Warner seemed to be about the alleged fixing of elections in Trinidad and Tobago. So that was somehow OK to let slide (until you needed to throw it out there for potential cover from prosecution) but diverting money from victims of an awful tragedy... that’s

Mostly because everyone remembers a few massive Jordan moments (I know Craig Ehlo and Byron Russell certainly do), but the narrative is often painted like Jordan never missed in those situations. MJ is the greatest ever, in my mind, but damn if LeBron is not getting reeeaaaalll close.

Fair point and I hope you’re right. I enjoy Golden State as team (just a fun style to watch), but it would be great to see LeBron somehow make this all work. Delly has been astonishingly good on defense in the playoffs. ESPN was talking about how he has basically caused the best point guard on each team they’ve played

Even if they have the home floor, the style of play will likely need to be identical because they just don’t have the same talent level offensively. They need to turn it into a physical, defensive grind with some role player (or two) coming up big. In that sense, they need 3 more games just like last night.

Yes - not many reputable journalists, but I have heard it said (and bear in mind, a lot of it comes from mindless fans).
