@laikapants: The Miss Scarlett from the box, not the movie.
@Adah: I feel the urge at least once a week to foist the youtube video of this on some unsuspecting friend.
@Superrrdupa: He is also married to Miss Scarlet, of Clue fame, and used to be a French pimp.
@yvanehtnioj: Seriously. How on earth do they come up with these numbers? Have they hired a weight guesser from a carnival? Does Tyra at least get a stuffed bear for being subjected to this?
The witch old witch! (The wicked witch!)
What's with all the Carmex in her purse?
I cannot tell a lie. I may have watched Star Trek twice in a row yesterday then kissed my commemorative Spock drinking glass goodnight.
I'm plagued with a different problem, at times. I catch a whiff of something gorgeous, and I have absolutely no idea what it is. Most of the time its either impossible, or inappropriate to ask what scent the lady is wearing. The only solution is to lurk in the department's store's fragrance section, desperately…
I wonder what makes a scent a classic. Hundreds, if not thousands, of perfumes are launched every year. Most of them don't last more than a year or two. What kind of trends drive the market? Who determines those trends in a business so subject to personal taste?
@rodmanstreet: I have a fantastic sense of smell, except for when it comes to heinous, musky scents. I guess it's a blessing for the most part. I can't smell skunk at all. But it was not all that helpful when I was trying to figure out if my jacket reeked. It totally did.
@cans: The caveat of loving perfume - they discontinue so many fantastic scents. Unless you are sticking with the classics, you run the risk of finding something you absolutely adore, and then finding out that they don't make it anymore. They actually have websites dedicated to discontinued perfumes. Or if they…
@Helen Valentine: I haven't found my signature scent yet, but whenever I smell Obsession, I think of my mother. She rarely wears it anymore, but it reminds me of when I was little and she worked at Marshall Field's, and I thought she was the most glamorous and beautiful woman ever. She pretty much was, too.
@KitCatCadillac: On the other hand, my mom sold fragrances at Marshall Field's for years, so I grew up with a strong appreciation for perfume. I'm don't usually wear makeup, and my hair is super-plain, but a nice scent that you really love is such a small thing that can really pick you up, or make you feel a little…
Oh man, Youth Dew. My mom used to work for Estee Lauder, and she stocked up on Youth dew perfume, bath oil, lotion, deodorant, everything before she left. She has enough to last for years, even though she uses it liberally. And let's just say I'm not a fan. There's a sickly sweetness about that scent that gets…
@lchen: Oh, I'm not talking about exercise. Cesar does at least have that right. It's the single most important thing you can do for your dog. What I disagree with is the technique of "flooding" a terrified animal with fear-inducing stimulus until it shuts down. Besides being stressful for the dog, this method…
@nerdycellist: I love Patricia McConnell. She used to do a really great program on Wisconsin Public Radio called "Calling All Pets" that I really enjoyed.
@Awestruck: Hi! I'm a possible-future-vet who works with a lot of dogs, and I agree with you on the Milan thing. Exercise for dogs is crucial, and training is a must. I have some major problems with dominance training though. Obviously the person is the boss, but virtually all of Milan's methods are potentially…
@Charlene Darling: Ha. I don't think the recession has helped any in reducing crime. There are a lot of people living in poverty in southeast Wisconsin, and desperate people do desperate things.
@MsAvignon: That really does help, actually. I'm usually of the opinion that Milwaukee is a really great place to live, but like any other large city it has its problems. It's important to remember all the great things too.
