well, it adds the steam overlay, so you can chat with steam friends while playing the game. Also, people know that you're playing something so they don't bug you a bunch (usually. Depends on what kinds of friends you have)

First of all, there are 10 GBA games on the way as well. Second of all, Nintendo didn't have to give us ANYTHING, so we're lucky they decided to be nice and do this :P
