I think it's one of those games that looks boring but will actually be very emergent and engaging to play.

I feel many a flatmate sesh coming on.

Shit. Yes. Thanks for the tip. Love good tower defence.

$60 is a bit hefty, I agree.

Yeah you build buildings as well as running around shooting people and driving vehicles.

I got most of the subsequent PixelJunk games; would you recommend Monsters? I always eye'd it up but never took the plunge.

Definitely. Is there any word on if there will be more games? Or is this the last one? I hope it's the last for the sake of the story; it felt like definite trilogy material.

Yeah I find the nighttime stuff brilliantly compelling, too. In the demo, on my 3rd or 4th play of the countryside mission, we just couldn't down the griffin, and it got to nighttime.

For this one (this is straight from the horses mouth) they identified key flaws with the game's systems since the first ones, and are reworking the controls and mechanics from the ground up. SO the standard AC control/ combat system is out the window. There's no more 'combat lock' mode.

We've all misunderstood it, man: it isn't currently unlocked at all, for anyone because it's a cumulative unlock, as in, the video is unlocked for everyone when it has enough shares via Facebook, messages, and Twitter. So in a day or two it'll be released for everyone. Right now nobody can see it...

Yeah, I didn't even realise that it's actually a cumulative unlock... So EVERYBODY's tweets, facebook messages, etc., all add up to the video being released. Good god. Nobody can see it yet.

I do appreciate that. I still feel a bit sore about it, but am happy with how the game is looking anyway. Though other games have lost out more on a lack of co-op; like Far Cry 2.

Driver: San Francisco had co-op cop missions where one person played Tanner and one person played Jones. But there was no story or narrative: just great gameplay.

See my reply @Zallin.

I felt the same way initially, but watching this video changed my mind. (The other two videos are incredible too, specifically the Dragon's Dogma Preview overview one.)

Ah yeah I get you, from a design and aesthetic standpoint it's definitely an improvement.

The team making it, and that I reference, are the people who have only worked on ACI and ACII: the series creators and developers of the best iterations. Those who worked on Brotherhood and Revelations are a spinoff team.

You don't just have to 'like' the Facebook page...

They said they had completely reworked the control system, and a big focus on this was tree climbing and traversal. I'm pretty sure tree branch jumping and travelling will be executed fine. They aren't going to get it wrong.

Wasn't the blade used like that in Brotherhood onwards? Possibly even ACII.
