I started watching The Night Manager for Tom Hollander, who I love in pretty much everything he’s done, but I stayed for Olivia Coleman. I can’t tell you how much I loved seeing a woman in her 40s, not conventionally attractive and heavily pregnant kick ass and take names in a spy thriller. Can she be the next Bond?

Oh god absolutely. And I sort of hated myself for this weird spiral I got in of being like ‘this girl clearly needs some help what is going on’ and just hitting refresh and re-reading her articles multiple times. I think it’s the teenage girl lurking deep inside who still thinks this kind of thing is cool, around 2am

They did switch over to the commenting, but I guess I always think of the articles as a starting point for the conversation. I think the comment section there probably goes in its own direction and I’m getting feedback that it’s a much more inclusive community without the “pending” system.

Sense and Sensibility Hugh Laurie is my favorite Hugh Laurie.

I have such a fondness for Southdale. My mom grew up very nearby, and remembers being taken to the opening. We used to visit when I was a kid, and it was so much fancier than the local mall in my hometown; it was always a huge treat to go there for a girls’ day out with mom and grandma. I still go every time I visit

Honestly, I think Kirk thought he’d move on to bigger and better things after Growing Pains like most child stars think they will and found out he was a one hit wonder. He’s been desperate to claw back into the limelight ever since. Ditto: Candace and Full House. I think if they didn’t invest their tv show money into

Preemptive answer for those who watched the press conference: no, we don’t all sound like that.

I thought he didn’t have them replaced because it would have required blood transfusions. So it was possible he was in pain from that.

I was doubly confused since I processed Rhett Miller and I was wondering why Kara was quoting the lead singer of Old-97's, but then I remember this isn’t him.

W: Okay if I ask you some questions for a story I’m working on?

Yeah, I say, “Wow, how unique!”

Isn’t WASP more a mentality and personality type at this point than a reference to someone’s actual religion and background? That’s how I feel about the term jap as well.

For real tho you need to talk to her about fish theft in NA. That shit’s not cool.
I mean, I usually avoid the Mommy Wars but sometimes you just have to speak up.

Can we also get a shout out to Dahlia Lithwick and her sharp, comprehensive SCOTUS coverage? For years she has done a great service by distilling frequently dry and convoluted supreme Court arguments for Slate and I think the internet is a better place because of it.

I just started WW. I like it. I’m 5lbs down, and I like knowing what my points are. I like that I can eat pretty much what I want, but if I want fewer points, I control the portion. I’ve been cooking some new recipes— things I’d never considered cooking before, and I haven’t been disappointed. There was only 2 times

Honestly, Weight Watchers is the only program that I’ve ever stuck with and that has helped me loose weight. Something about seeing the points makes me be able to compare foods and make better choices than tracking calories alone.
