Ok you all: I have a problem. I really have not been able to do anything else except surf the news since the election. Some people I know have decided to shut it out (one told me yesterday that the “news isnt gonna get better for four years” so I might as well tune out and save myself the heartache) but I can’t do it.…
I love how he was such a fan of Wikileaks and outright asked for his opponent to be hacked and now he’s crying in his cheerios.
I’m involved. I’ve been involved with this stuff all my life. But I’m involved. So I know when you are telling the truth or when you are not. I just see many, many untruthful things. I will tell you what else I see. I see tone. You know the word tone. The tone is such hatred. I’m really not a bad person, by the way.
Wow. I think he illustrates perfectly where the motivation for these bills comes from; a hatred for women’s voices and choices and medical well-being that is based in hatred of women themselves.
Made in China? But isn’t Trump gonna bring jobs to America?
I think my fave part of Melissa’s Spicey skit was when she turned the press room into QVC for Ivanka’s crap.
“played, a little bafflingly, by Kate McKinnon”
Reading that was cathartic and I empathize with the daughter. I was abused as a kid and I’m currently trying to negotiate and grapple with both loving my parents and being angry with them. They pretty much refuse to acknowledge the damage and hurt they inflicted and just deflect and guilt trip. It is not helpful when…
This isn’t incompetence. Trump may be an idiot, but his two Steves aren’t. They know exactly what they are doing. This big, flashy, apparently clumsy executive order was designed to create chaos and confusion and to elicit outrage and protest from their political opponents. Meanwhile, Trump’s inner circle of advisors…
Oh daaaamn.
I personally loved the leap from “there is NO way of knowing how many people were there.” to “There were the most people from any inauguration ever.”
I love that CNN elected not to cover this live—they tweeted that they’d “monitor it” for anything significant and then cut over if it warranted. And since then they’ve been fact-checking everything Spicer said.
We’ve got a band of about 80 Jezzie’s meeting up to march together so hit me up if you want to find us! The amazing Poodletime has made us some Jezebel sashes (not 80, she’s amazing but not a Disney mouse). Details should be final Friday afternoon so I can send them to the tips account.
Rachel Maddow said something to the effect of “..what a small, cruel thing to do.”
Via email. Not even a phone call.
You’re right, we should stop. We’re just panzering to each other.
I moved to Austin less than two years ago so my husband and I could get better jobs. It has some good points, and I honestly think it is getting better re:the awful prejudice issue. Still, Dan Patrick is responsible for about 40% of my incoherent-with-rage calls to elected officials.
women and girls should have privacy and safety in their restrooms, showers and locker rooms
Tiny Beautiful Things is really an amazing collection. I’ve read the entire book twice, and I’m on a third reading. It isn’t a novel; it’s a collection of advice columns which are essentially essays, so I read one or two at a time.
