Yeah, that's very true. In that sense, Moore's Law is more about approaching the technological singularity.

I know for the last 3 decades or something, we've been 'only 10 years away from the limit of Moore's Law,' but some smart folks apparently think we've got 600 years, according to the Wiki entry on Moore's Law.

Just looking at that chip makes my head spin, remembering all the prereq/into to CompEngr classes I took years ago and wondering how they've whittled everything down to that size. (nanolithography or similar/better/newer techniques, obviously, but still...)

Technically, any aircraft could attain a negative ground speed. It just requires a strong enough steady wind, no gusts, please.

Most of the time it's accompanied by a "reading the headline gave me all the info I needed," with an occasional "did they just copy-paste wikipedia facts to add words to the article?" feeling.

zing!

I think it's because we've become de-sensitized to certain graphic images. One thing, videos of the planes crashing into the towers may appear to have a 'less graphic' feel to them because we can only see the metal fuselages plowing into concrete and steel structures, but we can't make out individual human bodies
