Since you brought up Rivian - they’ve already started delivering, uh, delivery vans to Amazon.  Contracted for 100k vans.  There’s no reason at this point to think they are vaporware - their final consumer product may change but they are a real and living company.  

It’d be one thing if it was transparent, but it felt materially slower - I expected it to gain more of a feel at the low end. I have a Pacifica Hybrid which has a nice little torque kick off the line, at times feeling stouter than my Charger. The eTorque just felt slower overall.

Despite claims that it helps acceleration, myself and others have driven our work fleet’s normal and eTorque V8 RAM 1500s back to back and the eTorque feels slower.  Hardly scientific but when we all feel the same...

It’s so many times better than the competition, I’m at a loss as to why Chrysler doesn’t promote it more.  We absolutely love ours, and this is coming from a guy who loves hp (other car is a Charger Scat Pack.)  Only PHEV/electric option in the minivan space, best looking and great interior - but it barely sells.

Agree with everything except the wheels.  He’s doing the buyer a favor by keeping those.  They’re ugly.

From a creative writing standpoint, it makes for a natural evolution of how Randall sees his own self-care. I wonder if originally, he would have stayed with his therapist longer, but the racial unrest now provides another dimension for Randall and the writers to explore about himself.
