I once said that there were only ever four good convertibles.

This.

This article brings to mind a discussion on Jalopnik in something like 2016 or so. There was a huge discussion thread on “bad cars”. There are two distinct camps:

No kidding. My cousin had a 1987 Tercel that she bought new. She sold it it 2007 with 300,000 km. It was still going strong, no rust, no mechanical issues.

Even using your numbers. If you just plugged in each night (even without an L4 connection) you’d still be fine.

Oh man. As a dad who’s flown solo with a cranky toddler, you have my sympathies. I was going to Vancouver for a work trip and my mom said “bring X. We’ll watch him while you go to meetings.” My wife was too busy to come along and so off I went with our son, a folding stroller, a roller bag and a backpack.

How far is your drive to work???? I could drive to and from work for two weeks in most EVs, without needing to charge. Hell even a Kia Soul with its 380 km (237 mile) range would only get charged maybe every ten days. I’d just plug it in at night and let it do its thing.

It should. It was a bad car that should feel bad about itself.

Now, there’s an interesting challenge. I’d like to see what other people could do with the CT platform.

Why not? They’re production, electric sportscars. And they are very solid attempts at what they do. People - albeit very rich people - can go buy them. Their technology will trickle-down to more affordable offerings from other carmakers.

To be fair, you could have stuck the word “unpredicted” in there as well, for clarity.

There hasn’t really been a solid attempt at an electric sports car since”

Cadillac.

Comment of the fucking week.

Agreed. Android Auto is a total gamechanger.

Subaru’s is great. Their lane-control desperately needs a software update; but Subaru’s adaptive cruise is fantastic.

I like the Zonda from some angles. However, it cannot be denied that the Zonda’s side mirrors are a work of art. They’re beautiful.
