Do you always respond to considered conversation with petulant moaning?
It's a slow day at work, so I guess I'll engage this line of thought even though no one probably cares.
You don't *get it.*
One of the most creative forms of pop culture entertainment and people still only think in franchise titles. Creating something fresh and original seems like what you're asking for, then. Why gamers want to burden their own series' with a million flailing appendages, I'll never understand.
What does that have to do with anything?
I think all those series are commercial franchises. The Mother series is a sort of auteur creation, if you understand what I mean (which you may very well not; my original post implied a preciousness to the series). Don't do all half-cocked on me.
I understand why you'd want that, but I'm of the belief that the series was perfected at 3 titles. Like they say, you can have too much of a good thing and, especially in the video game industry, I find that restraint is the most overlooked asset.
Hoisting the non-trophy high.
To be fair, though, they give a shit about the sport more than once every four years, so...
Celtics/Lakers in the 80s is a cultural narrative more than a fact. Philly and Detroit had some killer teams. Even Houston nearly had a great team for a hot minute there. I know that doesn't disprove a lot, but people always reach for the simplest dismissal of an argument, even if it belies other inconvenient facts.
Dredd had a plot that wasn't garbage and self-awareness. For whatever reason, those aren't defensible virtues in the Raw Action category, even if it does mean more than dumb, visceral engagement for the viewer.
Why would they be so cavalier to be laughing about it at dinner? It's not unfair to call a postmortem for something that hasn't registered a heartbeat in years. It was terribly bad form on IGN's part, but in the age of the internet when rumors are read more than the post-press packets, that's the price we all pay.
This is so par for the course on this game. I can't imagine a more patently "meta" press scenario.
If anyone's looking for the subtext here: the less intelligent and educated you are, the funnier it becomes.
Considering the recent banana-based racist events... is this in turn racist?
Nah.
Indeed. Any other gems of widely understood common knowledge to spare? Or perhaps another link to a tangentially relevant empty calories of pop culture?
You don't say...
I thought it was a really smart move at first, but ultimately it's just a matter of preferences and caution. Personally, I have a secondary laptop that I do writing on in my office that is never online, and having access to my other files like character relations, summaries, plot charts, and everything else... it's…
