As the other commenter suggested, you really should read the Pulitzer prize winning article. You don't have to agree with it (or me), and if you still you still it's about "bad parenting" then more power to ya, but take the 10 mins to read it to at least gain the perspective.

I'm guessing you didn't read the article, so you didn't see that the people profiled are normal everyday people who obviously cared about their children and are in no way stupid or careless. The instances of this happening are often no different than you forgetting to send an important email because someone came by…

I hate that so many are calling out bad parenting or that "the people that need this won't buy it". This is really something that can happen to anyone, and acknowledge that is the first step to preventing it.
