Say what you will but he’s established his name and given it recognition value. People care about what he says, as this article proves. That, in turn, gives him leverage when working on marketing deals (e.g. exclusive game reveals).

*shrugs*
I disagree on most accounts. I think the combat is a ton of fun because Firaxis made a lot of smart design choices. In a superhero power fantasy, having to micromanage tile-based movement is annoying, so they got rid of that and let you use attacks at any range. However, they still made positioning important if you…
The combat looks pretty fun from what I’ve seen.
XCOM’s strategy layer (i.e. base building and upgrade research) forces you to make meaningful choices because you can’t unlock everything in one playthrough due to limited resources and a time limit. MS is the opposite, as it allows you to endlessly grind for every resource. As a result, there’s no real strategy and…
Yeah, it’s a turn-based strategy game. That doesn’t tell you much though. CoD and Doom are both in the FPS genre but they play very differently. Same applies to XCOM and Midnight Suns. Part of the reason many people initially rejected Midnight Suns was because they expected it to be XCOM with superheroes and it…
I think it’s more that these particular woman are now insanely jacked and look like they could snap Cloud in half. The before/after contrast is the humorous part.
I’d argue that you definitely shouldn’t go into Midnight Suns expecting it to play like XCOM. Aside from being turn-based, they have very little in common. Midnight Sun’s strategy layer in particular is extremely shallow compared to XCOM’s.
I’m confused as to why people seem to think Keighley should be an activist. His shows are and have always been marketing shows. The only time he’s ever mentioned a publisher in a negative light was Konami and that was only after it essentially left the gaming industry and was no longer relevant.
I’ve heard that the patch isn’t coming out until the console versions launch, though. A fair number of PC players are pretty pissed about that because ND has said that the patch was imminent since August of last year.
I’m pretty sure most post-launch cosmetic items are outsourced so the reduced quality isn’t all that surprising.
Sheva was on the original cover art. I’m guessing they put Jill on the Gold edition cover art because the Jill DLC is largely the defining addition of the Gold edition. Also, she’s a classic character and has much more recognition than Sheva. It probably would have been better to include all three characters, though.
Spider-Man is still very grapple-heavy and that doesn’t scale very well with additional players because only one enemy can be grappled by one player at a time. You basically end up with a ton of whiffing when players are trying to grapple the same targets. On top of that, the amount of knockback isn’t conducive to…
Wonder how the combat would have worked. Arkham-style combat is specifically designed for a single player. Throw three other players in there and it falls apart pretty quickly. That’s why the Arkham combat system wasn’t used in Gotham Knights.
I’m not sure how they’ve been lazy? They’ve released three big open-world games over the past decade and their studio isn’t very big by modern AAA standards. You might not like their recent output but that doesn’t mean they’re lazy. I think Starfield is their weakest game since Daggerfall but can still recognize the…
Howard is 54 and has stated that he’ll likely retire after ES6 so if he is the bottleneck, that bottleneck will probably be gone in about 5 years.
I get the sense that KH’s EGS exclusivity period actually ended years ago. Square just cares so little about those ports that they forgot that they even released them.
It’s kind of surprising that Capcom isn’t selling official Capcom pawn DLC packs. They have tons of IP to draw from and they could get the official voice actors to provide the VO.
What? As far as I know, you can’t buy perk cards. You can only buy consumables and cosmetics.
I suspect this will change sooner than later. MS bought Bethesda primarily for Fallout and Elder Scrolls. I suspect it will want new entries in each series more than once every 10+ years. Also, with both Obsidian and inXile under MS’ wing, there’s more than enough talent to work on multiple entries simultaneously.
