Not that surprising. Diablo is a far bigger IP than either Crash or Spyro.

I’m not a fan of survival crafting games but I thought Grounded was great. You can also adjust the survival elements to suit your tastes.

This is Embracer’s legacy, and people on social media are already blasting Wingefors’ comment given the current industry climate. And Embracer’s not the only company that’s been acquiring studios and laying off scores of employees soon after. Microsoft recently cut nearly 2,000 people’s jobs after it finalized its acq

Agreed, not having any video options for the PC is super lazy. But that’s just an issue for one platform. When you look at the remaster as a whole across all platforms, it’s still far more substantial than the average remaster.

Hoping Crash 4 and the Tony Hawk remakes are next. Wonder how long it’ll take CoD to show up.

To make more money? Same reason any dev/pub decides to go multiplatform.

Well, no, I would have responded anyway to challenge your claim that the TR remasters are just a money grab/complete farce. Like I said, these remasters are far more substantial than the typical remaster. New models, new animations, new lighting, new foliage, new control scheme, etc.

That’s fine, you can exclude any Mario game where you don’t exclusively play as Mario. In fact, I already did that when I explicitly said:

That doesn’t explain why it sold more than Skyrim (at the time of course)

Your lack of specificity doesn’t help your argument. You’ve listed two games that have “definitively” queer protagonists (I’m being charitable with “definitive” for those). I’ve listed many, many more that have definitively straight protagonists. If you’re not going to put any effort into supporting your own argument,

Kind of disappointing that they aren’t going all in but it makes sense. They want this to be a gradual transition to mitigate fanboy rage. So start with the more niche and older titles that people care less about.

So your list of games with queer protagonists is BotW and Celeste? That’s it? BotW is an extremely dubious example but I’ll let you have it.

Console makers definitely get a discount but even then, pricing is still an issue which is why they go with AMD instead of Nvidia. The PS5/XSX GPUs are roughly equivalent to a 2080, not a 3070.

Nintendo specifically used Nvidia’s mobile tech for Switch because it’s effectively a tablet. We already know that AMD tech is used for PS5 and Xbox and AMD still doesn’t have hardware-based upscaling so I’m not sure how releasing a year later would have resulted in hardware-based upscaling for consoles.

You described the 2023 System Shock as a remaster, which it isn’t. It’s a remake.

Sure I do. It means the character’s gender identity isn’t fixed and can change. Can you provide any examples of games where Link has been female?

I’m just trying to get you to make a list. Indie games, AA games, AAA games... go wild.

I’m perfectly fine with using Celeste as an example of a game that has a definitively queer protagonist. I’m just asking for more examples. If we’re using canon as the criteria (rather than requiring that the character’s orientation be explicitly conveyed in each game), that makes it even easier for me to list games

I wouldn’t write it off completely. Remember, EA Play is already on PSN. I think Sony would allow GP on PSN if:

If the hardware is profitable, they’ll continue to make it. It provides another entry point into the Xbox ecosystem (and more specifically, Game Pass) so if the hardware makes money and gets people to spend money in the ecosystem, that’s a win-win for MS.
