pessimism actually made that exact claim.
I don’t know. I’m trying to understand your thought process. You seem to believe that a game is only good if it’s culturally relevant a month after release and if that’s true, then more culturally relevant games would therefore be better games.
I guess you must not enjoy much of anything if that’s the case. Fortnite and Call of Duty have way more cultural relevance than TotK. Does that make them better games?
Surely you realize that all entertainment is disposable? Most people don’t even finish games, let alone replay them. Most people don’t rewatch movies or TV shows. The vast majority of single-player games aren’t talked about a month after release regardless of quality.
Oh boy. So now you’re claiming that the last 30 days of data are irrelevant and that only data from the last 24 hours matters? If so, I think we’re done here.
Again, none of the data supports your claim that people only cared about Hogwarts Legacy at launch.
The focus on melee and puzzles already make it significantly different from Wolfenstein.
Maybe I’ve played too many games but I was able to recognize it was Troy Baker pretty quickly.
Right. It does seem likely that it sold that much over the holidays but again, that’s just assumption.
Can you provide a link? I can’t find any of those numbers in the Twitter post.
I do find your belligerent ignorance and blatant hypocrisy to be rather amusing, yes. It’s like watching Trump cry about being bullied.
What specific data makes you think that TotK outsold Hogwarts? Hogwarts is multiplatform, uses a much more popular IP and has been out longer. This article also straight up says that Hogwarts outsold TotK in the U.S.
I feel the same way. The combat just doesn’t look very interesting or satisfying. I’m still going to play the game since it’ll be on GP but I’m struggling to find anything to really get excited about from what they’ve shown.
Yes, that’s why it’s the best-selling game of 2023, has over 5000 positive user reviews on Steam written in the past 30 days and had a significant increase in average player count within the last 30 days. Yup, definitely suggests that it’s a mediocre game that nobody cares about.
I had a lengthy debate with various commenters about the reasons for Hogwarts not being nominated for any TGA awards despite its critical and commercial success. I argued that it was primarily because the TGA wanted to avoid any potential controversy. They claimed that it was because Hogwarts was a mediocre game that…
Shutting down the servers is not equivalent to making a separate DRM-free version of the game specifically for GOG while the game is still live. If they did that, they’d have to update and maintain that version of the game separately from the versions on other platforms. In addition, this would complicate their…
If I enjoy something, that means I found it compelling. I didn’t enjoy She-Hulk because I didn’t find it compelling.
Released in February 2023, Hogwarts Legacy wasn’t a hit with critics and ended up not winning many major awards.
I’d be surprised if it lasts more than six months.
