I initially thought this article was about USPS being too horny.

Yeah, BGS introduced the idea of Feral Ghouls which I guess made most people think that Ghouls are zombies and that intelligent ones are the exception, not the rule. In the original games, the opposite was true.

I don’t recall insulting you but maybe you’re offended when people dismantle your arguments? You wouldn’t be the first.

Are you talking about games? Because AAA console games still get physical releases. Retailers don’t carry as many games in-store as they used to but you can still buy copies online from sites like Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Walmart, etc.

I really hope that’s true. I still think Remedy will just settle ASAP and change their logo to avoid any unnecessary expenses or potential strife with Take-Two.

There’s not much point in using subjective taste as a metric for whether something is stacked or not. Better to use objective metrics. Of the 7 games on this list, 4 are launching day one on Game Pass. That’s pretty impressive.

Eh, we could get into a lengthy debate as to how much roleplaying JRPGs actually offer. “Adventure game with combat” is a pretty apt description.

The economics have changed quite a bit when you look at the bigger picture. Manufacturing is just one of the costs involved with physical. There are also scaling costs associated with distribution, storage, etc. The more physical copies you make and the more retailers you need to ship them to, the higher your costs. Yo

You do realize that MS currently hosts every Elder Scrolls game on their servers, right? Arena and Daggerfall are free while Redguard, Battlespire, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim are on Game Pass. Game Pass also has Doom, Doom 2, Doom 3, Doom 64, Quake, Quake 2, Quake 3 and Quake 4. The Hexen and Heretic games (except

I’m in the opposite boat. Of the first Crystal Dynamics trilogy, I thought Legends was the worst and Anniversary the best. Legends had too much combat and those pointless motorcycle segments. Anniversary was more focused on exploration, platforming and puzzle-solving. Basically, everything I look for in a TR game.

Yes, “exponentially” means rapid growth. Incredibly rapid. GPU prices are not going to grow exponentially in 5 years. They’ll grow slowly, for the reasons I’ve already explained. They won’t cost $5k or whatever silly numbers you threw out in order to convey your disdain for PC gaming.

Exponential means that it’s being multiplied by itself. So what you’re saying is that if a a mid-range GPU costs $500 today, it will cost $250k (minimum) in five years. Needless to say, that’s hyperbolic nonsense.

True, though Max Payne 3 came out 9 years later, had a significantly larger budget, far more marketing and launched as a multiplatform release (the previous games launched first on PC and later on consoles). Even then, it didn’t sell enough for Take-Two to bother continuing the series.

Kind of makes Konami look bad for charging $60 for their extremely half-assed MGS collection. Of course, they already looked bad but this TR collection looks to rub salt in the wound.

Could be. I just can’t think of any examples of a sequel or spin-off from a different developer that ever had the same critical or commercial success as the entries made by the original developer. When a series switches developers, I think people automatically become more cynical and less likely to overlook a game’s

I’m not so sure. When Bungie stopped making Halo, interest in the IP dropped. Same with Gears when Epic left. If The Last of Us 3 is made by a studio other than Naughty Dog, will it sell as well? Probably not.

The legal merits of the lawsuit don’t really matter here. Take-Two has way more money than Remedy and can afford to drag the case out until Remedy goes bankrupt.

Excited to see gameplay from Avowed, Hellblade 2 and Indiana Jones. After a somewhat underwhelming debut trailer, Avowed needs to prove that it’s more than just lower-budget Elder Scrolls.

Everything you quoted is accurate when explaining what needs to happen for subscription services to become more popular among gamers. Recognizing those facts is not the same as pushing for the abolishment of sales.

Agreed, streaming is the much bigger concern here. Not only for preservation but quality. Aside from the technical downsides of streaming (image compression, lag, queues, etc), there would be no mod support, no customizable graphics settings and potentially not even MKB support for many games. If I’m ever forced to
