Love how detailed the report is. As usual, Steam puts the other platforms to shame.

Kotaku equating AI to NFTs might be the dumbest thing I’ve read in a while. AI has legitimate uses across multiple industries and is inevitably going to be a part of most future development pipelines. It’s not some cash grab fad that’s going to quickly fade away like NFTs.

Sigh. Such sloppy reporting.

It’s true that this information is being leaked by hackers rather than someone who works (or worked) at Insomniac but ultimately, the distinction is just semantics. Businesses don’t like their confidential information being revealed to the public regardless of who’s doing the leaking. To them, it’s even worse if it’s

If you read the thread, I’ve already provided several examples of jobs being saved (as in, studios avoiding closure) or created (by studios getting bigger projects with bigger budgets) as a result of acquisitions so... yeah. For example, Arkane would have shut down after three canceled projects in a row had they not

So Matt Booty is taking over? Seems like an improvement. Hopefully Activision will make more than just CoD now. Interstate 76 is begging for a remake.

I mean, the existence of Midnight Suns already confirms that Sony doesn’t have exclusive rights to X-Men characters. Just games that revolve exclusively around specific X-Men characters, I guess.

The hackers are very likely located in Russia, China or some other country the U.S. doesn’t have any leverage with so I doubt they’ll ever be punished.

How far back we talking about? Kotaku has been reporting on leaks for as long as I remember. Bethesda even blacklisted them for reporting on leaks about Fallout 3 and Prey, if I recall correctly.

Even if Sony doesn’t pay, the hackers can still sell the personal information of Insomniac’s employees.

Not sure how true that is. Naughty Dog made its most critically and commercially successful games after being acquired. Same goes for Sucker Punch, Arkane, IOI, Crystal Dynamics, Bungie, Volition, etc.

You didn’t address any of my specific points and instead sent me a link describing completely unrelated mergers. It’s very annoying when people ignore facts in order to maintain an emotionally-driven stance, hence my hostility.

That is very surprising. How many hours have you put into the game?

The fact that his post got 25 likes as of this writing is kinda disturbing. Are there really people that believe GP isn’t good for consumers..?

The topic of this debate isn’t inequality, though. It’s about whether technological advancement has improved life for the majority of people. As you said yourself, life has improved for most people and that’s a direct result of technological advancements.

Nuclear winter is entirely hypothetical and highly contested in the scientific communities so no, I didn’t factor it into my opinion.

Are you suggesting that life has not improved for the average person over the past century? Sure, the rich got richer and all that. However, that’s not mutually exclusive with life improving for everyone as a whole.

The idea that a nuclear war would devastate every inch of landmass across the entire world is silly. Major cities would be decimated but there would be plenty of areas untouched by the bombs.

I’m just stating what should be an obvious fact. Consolidation isn’t inherently good or bad. It can lead to good things for employees and customers alike. Or it can lead to bad things. Neither outcome is inherent to consolidation itself.

I’m well past 200 hours and I’m still on Act 3. Granted, I’m a completionist and I go out of my way to steal everything possible (which is a very time consuming process due to RNG pickpocketing). Still, even if I just stuck to critical path, I doubt I’d finish the game in 50 hours.
