Can you actually refute any of my specific points or does your argument simply consist of “consolidation is bad mmkay?”

I mostly comment on Kotaku and apparently grey status is specific to each site.
Pretty sure the vast majority of male domestic abusers are not rich and powerful, simply by virtue of the fact that the vast majority of men are not rich and powerful. The media just gives more attention to the rich and powerful because that’s what people care about.
While some cheered, excited for future Call of Duty and Diablo games to be added to Game Pass, the reality is this deal is likely to lead to more layoffs and other problems in the future. As fewer and fewer companies own everything, the lack of competition leads to rising prices and more powerful corporations that…
You do realize that Game Pass subscribers save a ton of money, right? A service isn’t silly if it provides value to customers. Honestly, GP is the best thing MS has done in years.
When was the last time Obsidian had a huge hit..? PoE1 certainly wasn’t a huge hit. Neither was Outer Worlds, Grounded or Pentiment. They were all profitable enough to be considered successful but that’s only because their budgets were small.
Except we aren’t just talking about structures. We’re talking about enemies, NPCs, activities, lore notes, etc. For example, the Forgotten Mech Graveyards always have the exact same layout, filled with Spacers, along with a dead Spacer in a cave next to the exact same note in every instance of the POI. There’s always…
Given how well BG3 is selling, I wouldn’t expect it to drop to $20-30 anytime soon. That said, if clearing your backlog is going to take 5+ years, you might be right.
The 33% price increase for PS+ still seems crazy to me. It’s standard for subscription services to raise their prices over time but 33% in one hike is insane.
He added that Baldur’s Gate 3, a roughly 50-hour game filled with tons of player choice and branching dialogue that invites multiple playthroughs,
Pretty much this. If MS had offered them $150m to put the game on Xbox Game Pass (but not PC Game Pass), I’m fairly sure they would have taken the deal. PC Game Pass would have been a tougher sell since the game is still selling really well on PC. However, if the offer was big enough, Larian would take it. The…
I had no trouble buying stuff this year. I mean, yeah, inflation sucks but I was able to find and successfully buy whatever I needed/wanted without issue.
“I have never in my 13 years of playing Dota 2 ever done anything like this, and when I realized it felt wrong and was the wrong way to go about things, I stopped it, sadly you can’t undo a mistake you made,” he wrote. “I’m asking for a second chance, because I will never do anything like this again, and I never have…
While I wish we would have predicted this outcome
Not sure what you’re talking about? Alan Wake isn’t free on EGS. Unless you mean that it was a giveaway at some point in the past. That may be true but the timing makes that largely irrelevant. Alan Wake Remastered should have been a giveaway a month or so before AW2's launch to draw more attention to the IP and build…
That doesn’t really track either. For one, the whole point of multiplatform development is to maximize revenue by maximizing your potential audience. It’s the reason they’re releasing the game on Xbox even though it will sell way better on PS5 and would very likely sell better on PC too. If MTX are available, that’s…
I don’t see Sony ever allowing GP on PS. It’s a direct competitor to PS Plus Extra/Premium.
I’m genuinely surprised that they didn’t give away the first game on EGS in the weeks leading up to the sequel. Seems like a no-brainer considering how old the first game was and how many people don’t want to jump into a story-driven sequel without playing the original game first.
I’d be pretty pissed if someone gifted me the incredibly half-assed MGS Master Collection. Just send me the original PS1/2 ISOs with pre-configured emulators that provide a vastly superior experience to this overpriced cash grab.
The problem is that 30s really isn’t enough time for award speeches, especially GOTY. Compare that to the 7 minute, completely worthless interview with Kojima and Jordan Peele about OD. If they didn’t have anything informative to say, then they should have just showed the teaser trailer and move on.
