Except GTA Online and RDR Online are already on PC.
Except GTA Online and RDR Online are already on PC.
It seems silly to not backport some or all of these changes to the other versions, but this is Rockstar, a company that still has yet to update the PC port of GTA Online to match the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S editions. This is a company that just announced a big new game, Grand Theft Auto VI, without confirming a PC…
That makes their case even dumber. They literally just want Google to host their software on Google Play without compensation. By that logic, developers/publishers should be able to sell their software on EGS without compensating Epic in any way.
So you think Larian is the only company that can make a successful CRPG? If PoE3 had the budget of BG3, I imagine it would have far broader appeal than the low budget, Infinity Engine-inspired PoE 1&2. Presentation makes a big difference, as BG3 and Dragon Age have proven.
No bugs at all? Really? So no pathfinding issues? No clipping? No overlapping VO or VO cutting off prematurely?
I enjoyed it. Great graphics, interesting setting, fun combat, fun puzzles, some crazy enemy designs and fantastic music. Easily an 8/10.
“Compete” might be the wrong word to use because they’re losing that competition quite dramatically. Sony has like double their console market share.
Digital games still get pulled from sale, yeah, but they don’t get pulled from users’ libraries. At least, not on Steam. Sony might be less pro-consumer in that regard given how they’re pulling all Discovery content from users’ libraries.
Looks like this month will add some Chaos. I hate Chaos. I criticize Chaos’ fashion sense behind its back. When I see Chaos in a supermarket, I remove things from its shopping cart when it isn’t looking.
Wonder how long MS will keep going with hardware. Spencer himself has admitted that there’s no chance of Xbox ever surpassing Playstation’s market share due to backwards compatibility allowing users to carry their libraries over between generations.
Xbox has recently made Game Pass more expensive. In March, the company axed its enticing $1 offer for the first month. In June, Microsoft hiked the price of Game Pass Ultimate by two bucks (in addition to raising the prices of Xbox consoles) Then, just before the launch of Starfield in September, Microsoft pulled its…
If he put over 100 hours into PoE, maybe he’d be willing to greenlight PoE3, especially after the success of BG3...
As far as I remember, none of the POIs in Skyrim were repeated. They used templates (e.g. draugr tombs, dwemer ruins, underground caverns) so there were a lot of reused textures, meshes, props, enemies, etc, but the actual designs of each POI were unique. In Starfield, the POIs are literally copy and pasted across…
There’s Forgive Me Father if you’re going for the comic book aesthetic. Cultic has an interesting aesthetic where it looks like a Build-engine game but with an almost EGA color palette. Then there’s Cruelty Squad if you want something that’s intentionally hideous.
I’m not sure how it would be possible. Filling every planet with a bunch of unique, handcrafted POIs would require thousands of unique, handcrafted POIs. It’s simply not feasible for any developer to create that much content unless they worked on the game for over a decade with a team of 1000 people.
“Android” only refers to the OS. If hardware manufacturers choose to lock down their hardware, that isn’t Google’s responsibility in the same way that MS isn’t responsible for Nvidia or AMD’s decisions.
Quality is mostly objective..? Really? We’re not talking about manufacturing or food here where quality can be measured by durability or safety. We’re talking about entertainment. How would you objectively determine the quality of an entertainment product when people have different priorities? Some people really care…
I really don’t see how they can fix Starfield. Its biggest issue is that exploration is boring. It’s boring because there’s a ton of POI repetition which completely destroys the joy of discovery. BGS has to reuse POIs because it simply isn’t feasible for them to fill hundreds of planets with unique and interesting…
It’s really not fine. The exploration in Starfield sucks because the planetary POIs are heavily recycled (due to the scope of the game) and traveling between them is tedious because there’s nothing interesting to see or do on barren planets.
I don’t think they can fix the lack of interesting things to find. They can add a handful of new POIs to the pool but there’s still going to be heavy repetition due to the number of planets in the game. It’s just not feasible for them to fill every planet with unique and interesting content.
