The fact that you’d equate this cosplay scenario with rape culture is a bit troubling.

I think their lack of popularity has less to do with their mechanical downsides (of which there are many, granted) and more to do with the fact that people generally don’t want to be short.

Except the acts aren’t similar beyond the superficial changing of skin color. The act that was historically problematic was the minstrel show and this particular scenario clearly isn’t a minstrel show. If people are incapable of correctly identifying the actual issue, the fault lies with them.

So you agree that the act itself isn’t actually problematic and the only reason it’s deemed problematic is because people have an irrational response to it. I already knew that going into this debate but it’s nice to see someone actually admit it.

Except your response doesn’t make any logical sense. This is a bodysuit that covers the cosplayer’s entire visible body. There is no default skin color. You’re saying that this bodysuit should be white simply because the cosplayer inside it was white..?

If someone’s feelings aren’t based on facts or logic, is there a compelling reason to support them? In the example I provided, the cosplayer wasn’t performing in a minstrel show and wasn’t denigrating black people in any way. There was nothing racist about it, as proven by people’s apparent inability to explain

Once again, opinions should be based on facts and logic. Emphasis on should. Many people have opinions that aren’t based on facts or logic and that’s basically the cause of 90% of humanity’s problems.

Destiny 2 is a live service game. The general expectation with live service games is that they’re supported for at least 10 years.

That would be a huge win for MS but I doubt Larian would agree to it. If it was on GP, MS would likely demand both Xbox and PC GP. The game is still selling really well on PC so Larian has no reason to put it on PC GP. Maybe if MS paid them $500m or something insane.

Valve is doing an OLED Steam Deck giveaway. Good luck getting one, though.

Probably a trailer for the first DLC.

Honestly, I don’t get Avatar. I thought both movies were mediocre at best. The CG was great but everything else was forgettable. That said, the IP is really popular for some reason so I’m sure this game will sell well enough.

Did you delete my response to your last post..? Seems a bit insecure if so  but you do you.

I’m not pretending anything. People accused that cosplayer of blackface. Here’s the article:

So... what color should the cosplayer have made the bodysuit’s skin..? I’ve had this argument quite a few times and my opponents always refuse to answer that question.

*shrug*

I’m not sure why they would agree to sell the company if independence was their top priority. It seems inevitable that their owner would eventually want more control over their investments. If Bungie ever makes another single-player game, Sony will require it be a PS exclusive and no amount of “independence” will chang

So you think that the people who painted their faces black and acted like fools in order to mock black people’s culture and intelligence were actually doing it as an act of respect..?

Sigh. Okay, let’s try walking through this: how specifically did minstrel shows entertain white people? By mocking black people. Nobody at those shows thought “hey, I bet black folk love being depicted as dumb buffoons!”

You really should read the entire thread. I was responding specifically to this comment from _beveryman.
