This video covers the differences pretty well:

You are aware that GTA5 launched on Xbox 360 and PS3, right? Afaik, the XBO and PS4 were not backwards compatible with those versions. Even if they were, new remastered versions of the games were released on XBO and PS4. I think it’s safe to assume that many people who owned the X360/PS3 versions bought the game again

I don’t think DA:I’s direction was necessarily driven by DA2's failure. Publishers have believed that bigger is always better for quite some time. DA2 was only small in scope because EA wanted it out ASAP and rushed its development.

I thought GTA5 was remastered again for XSX/PS5? Might be mistaken, it’s hard to keep track.

If Rockstar had made an exclusivity deal with a console maker, I’d expect the game to be exclusive to one console. I don’t think Sony and MS have ever paid anyone to just exclude PC.

GTA has always succeeded on the strength of its presentation and worldbuilding, not its core gameplay mechanics. Unless you genuinely believe that GTA5 has better movement and combat than Max Payne 3, in which case you might be clinically insane.

No idea how they’d obtain that data. That said, “multiple platforms” doesn’t necessarily include PC. I’m sure a lot of console gamers bought GTA5 on X360/PS3, then again on XBO/PS4, then maybe again on XSX/PS5. I’m not convinced a lot of console gamers bought GTA5 on PC.

I really hope they don’t make pointlessly large and empty areas like in DA:I. I don’t want the game to feel like an MMO.

You’re making the odd assumption that everyone who will watch the show has played FO1 and 2. Maybe 1% of the modern Fallout fanbase has played the original games and maybe 5% of the TV show’s audience will have played any of the games.

To be fair, Power Armor was central to the marketing of the original games as well. It was the only thing featured on the box covers and magazine ads. For example:

It wasn’t intended to be funny. It was a genuine question. mega-crit pointed out that “master race idiots” would spam the comments about framerate if GTA6 launched on PC. Duffin made a reply that had nothing to do with framerate. You then stated that Duffin proved mega-crit’s point.

That might be a more convincing argument if multiplatform development wasn’t a standard practice for the past ten years or so. 99.9% of the time, the PC version launches at the same time as the console versions (assuming no arbitrary exclusivity deals are in place). Take Two can easily afford to hire a small team to

You nailed it on the head. Exploration has always been the strongest part of BGS’ games and it just sucks in Starfield. The non-procedural quests are solid enough but not a good enough reason to choose Starfield over, say, Baldur’s Gate 3. So crappy exploration + okay quests = meh.

Unlike Skyrim and FO4, Starfield launched simultaneously on Steam and GP so I suspect the total player count is higher than what Steam shows.

I seriously doubt that would be the case. The vast majority of console sales will come from casual gamers who don’t even know about PC mods and definitely don’t watch Youtube videos about them. That said, even if it was true, Rockstar makes money regardless of where you buy the game so they shouldn’t care if it sells

I’d love to know Rockstar/Take Two’s business reasoning for delaying the PC versions of their games. If this was 2003, the obvious answer would be “piracy” but these days, PC versions make more than enough money to offset any potential losses from piracy. Throw in the MTX revenue from GTA Online and delaying the PC

In what way..? He didn’t say anything about framerate.

Presentation looks great, as always. Now they just need to work on the core mechanics. Hopefully they use Max Payne 3 as reference when it comes to movement and combat (though judging by RDR2, they probably won’t).

Mimimi basically revived a dead genre so I’ll always be grateful to them for that. Hopefully other developers can keep the genre alive in their absence. At the very least, we’re getting a new Commandos game.

I’m not sure we’re talking about the same thing. For example, there are behind-the-scenes photos of Wolverine in the new Deadpool movie. These aren’t “professionally” shot. For example:
