There are a bunch of huge difference here. One is that the TV networks are actually looking at an international audience now. In 1970, they couldn’t have cared less if people outside the US were watching. Now they do.

I wonder about that, though. We hear all the time that liberals don’t vote in as high numbers. Off year elections are especially bad, and the reason is supposedly that liberals just can’t be bothered.

Truthfully, no. I need the money. I’d take it. But not $559,999. A man has his limits.

I don’t understand the idea that this would violate their privacy. If there is a potential crime, footage of that goes public. They are also public servants, often on public property in these cases. You can legally film people out in public. Their case seems like total bs to me.

I’m pretty strapped for cash now, but it would still take at least a million bucks. I like voting. This probably makes me a civics dork, but I feel proud when I vote. I love democracy. Of course, some years it turns to tragedy in the end. I certainly wasn’t happy by the end of the night on the last election day.

True. That’s why his popularity is so low.

I still love when he went to that rally afterward, and read back the comments he got in trouble for, but left out the offending words. Then he attacked everyone for getting mad at him for his statement.

I’m actually hopeful this will be a case where his base is fired up against him. The majority of Republicans support some path to citizenship for the people in DACA. However, Trump’s hardcore supporters are fueled by hate. Him allowing “Mexicans” to stay is going to make them so mad.

The nice thing is, he’s not in our party. Him betraying the Democrats hurts us less than him betraying the Republicans hurts them. In fact, there is a political benefit to Democrats either way. If Nancy and Chuck get Trump to do stuff the GOP doesn’t like, that’s a win. If the very unpopular president starts lashing

Possibly. But it’s a lot easier for the Democrats to get votes for a sensible bill if the Republican president is on board than it is for the Republicans to keep every single member in line to pass things with their slim majorities.

As long as Republicans are saying he betrayed them, that’s at least a partial victory for the Democrats.

We’ll see how Ryan and McConnell react to this. The Republicans do not want him working with the Democrats. He can pressure them into deals they don’t want. And it’s in Trump’s best interest to do so, as getting something done would be better for him than doing nothing. The Republicans in Congress, however, would be

People should definitely be fired for expressing their opinions about the president... That makes sense.

No matter what, that was a pretty terrible screw up. They didn’t just underestimate the demand. They missed the mark by like a factor of 4 or 5. It was clear long before it actually came out that it was going to be huge. It got a ton of mainstream media attention. People who haven’t played a video game in decades

It’s not as good, but believe it or not, there are people who are troubled by the morality of emulating. I’m not trying to shame anyone or anything, but I would always rather pay than feel like I was stealing.

In fairness, the original reaction to this from most people seems to have either been “this is terrible” or “I support PewDiePie no matter what.” After we got past the initial part where we broke into camps, it’s not unreasonable for people to think about their careers. This is how a lot of people pay the bills. If

Anyone else think the term “limousine liberal” is just obnoxious? Here in Minnesota, several years ago, the state was having problems staying funded. Over 100 Minnesotan millionaires signed a petition asking the state to tax them more. That’s right, they wanted to be taxed, because they wanted to help their state. The

It’s complicated. If the video was covered under fair use law, then it wouldn’t be up to the developer. They don’t get a say in that, or at least they shouldn’t. However, live streams and let’s plays still exist in a legal grey area.

I think you may be right, but as far as I know, let’s plays and live streams are still in a legal grey area. I don’t think the courts have decided yet if that counts as fair use. If it was a review or news story or any type of commentary, it would certainly be fair use, but I don’t believe this has been settled yet.
