Okay... How is that the same? He thinks Martin Luther King Jr. is as offensive to whites as the Confederate flag is to blacks (or really all Americans, as it is a symbol of treason)? Even if he hadn’t casually thrown out the racial slur, there would be no doubt that he is a racist.

Again, I agree the wording was bad. However, I think it would pass legal muster, because they never actually directly tie her to accusing him. The word basically is a good way of muddying the water, and they only refer to her as making accusations (which she did) and then pivot to the other women, who have accused CK.

The wording is definitely bad there, but it doesn’t actually say that. It says she leveled allegations, which is true, then pivots to other female comedians, and then it says they “basically” say that he did this. As long as other female comedians have made this allegation, they should be fine legally, as that wasn’t

That’s kind of incredible. I’ve been thinking about whether it could have been an accident, and I don’t think so.

If you are accurately reporting an allegation, you aren’t going to get sued, at least not successfully. The important factors are if the person said it, and if they accurately reported that it was this person saying it, and that it was an allegation.

I think it’s because NC represents a larger trend that is terrifying the Republicans. The demographics are turning more and more against the Republicans. In NC specifically, but nationwide as well. And as they try to hold onto power, they do everything they can to rig it so they can’t lose. At the same time, the

Oh, I agree that Texas is terrible in this regard. Quite a few states are. I just think NC has the edge. They seem to be the innovators in new ways to disenfranchise voters in the past few years.

Poor Jeffrey. He was just an open racist, and completely deranged. Now that I think of it, I can see why Trump would stand up for him.

Yeah, but when you throw in that time where they “Moneyballed racism” I think NC is the best at being the worst.

Oh God. I had forgotten about that one.

Honest question: Is North Carolina the absolute worst when it comes to unethical redistricting and voter suppression?

Putting something in books and in museums = History

Wow. Just wow. That is rough. Maybe wait until you’ve got things working better before releasing a trailer.

If you remember during the campaign, when he was losing quite badly and was only making things worse, it came out that Kellyanne Conway had gone to him and asked him what he wanted. He said he just wanted to continue doing rallies. He didn’t even want the presidency. He just wanted to be in front of adoring crowds.

Seems likely. And the other day when he was wearing a white getup, he was just working on his Halloween costume. It’s going to be a ghost, once he gets the point out of the hood.

It’s not surprising that he is afraid. The thing about these white supremacists is that they live in a constant state of paranoid fear. They honestly believe that white people are being oppressed or wiped out. It is crazy, but I think they really believe it. In their heads, they are the oppressed group.

That’s a load of bull. When a national tragedy strikes, people want the president to step in and be presidential. It’s comforting. Yeah, there are a ton of liberals (myself included) who would not have been won over no matter what. There would have still been criticism of him. However, he took the bizarre step of

Yeah, the loyalists will end up in his administration, but what does that matter? He is weakened by this. His standing with Congress is terrible, and they’re a Republican Congress. His polling is terrible. And the people he hires to replace the ones who left are less competent. He’ll get less done.

Yeah, it seems like a load of BS they waited this long, but look on the bright side: Every time someone walks away from Trump, it weakens him. He’s already a ridiculously weak president. He can’t get his party to do anything. Now he’s got the business community walking away.

Yeah, I think your last paragraph especially captures it. They want to believe racism has been almost completely eradicated so they don’t have to deal with it. So, to them, the people talking about racism must be just as bad because they have to be making it all up.
