I would guess that the majority of people who view it as a frivolous guilty pleasure probably aren’t so outspoken about enjoying the movie, but it doesn’t mean they don’t exist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Where did I say “stop making this content”? I said I didn’t like it personally. Full stop. I gave an opinion, which the author will probably ignore completely - it’s not like I have a gun to her head and I’m forcing her to take away content you love. And maybe I wouldn’t condescend to you if you didn’t open this

I’m not “wrong.” Many people genuinely like it, I’m sure, but just because you know those people doesn’t make it the only or the prevailing attitude about it. I know many people who think it’s silly fun, despite being problematic. Neither of our anecdotes proves that it’s predominately viewed as one or the other. And

I actually agreed that the movie sucks and gave my opinion on why this *type* of writing bothers me, not the movie selection. But wow, what a clever and original joke.

It seems both our opinions are equally meritless, then. Don’t know why you’re so upset about it. I’m allowed to comment, just like you’re allowed to freak out about it for no reason. And I actually did offer some constructive criticism elsewhere in this thread, but I don’t think you actually care about that.

Just me and all the other people starring and agreeing with me.

Calm down. At the top of article, it says “This time, maybe for the last time” - so I assume the author is at least somewhat open to criticism, and maybe even wants to know what her audience thinks about this new feature. It didn’t work for me, and obviously a lot of other people who starred my comment. I’m not

I understand all of that, but thank you for the summary. I’m going to just be frank and say that I didn’t find this article nostalgic, and I didn’t find it very entertaining. It seems like a lot of obvious things being pointed out about a movie that was never considered good to begin with, couched in what’s basically

I’m just getting tired of the constant impulse to jump straight to the snarky, negative angle. It’s become the easiest, most uninteresting way to analyze movies, imo. But I also understand the internet runs on snark, so... maybe I just need to get away from my computer more.

Sure, you’re right. I also think my original post came off more acerbic than I meant it to. I’ve been reaching a saturation point on these types of articles, but I realize that’s not going to be true for everyone.

*Shrug* Different strokes for different folks. I’m not really interested in debating the quality of the movie (I already said it sucked, but it’s a fact that many find it to be a fun, guilty pleasure... that’s why it has a cult following). It’s more the idea of having a column to bash on movies you once really

I’m certainly not saying it was ever considered a “good” movie - in fact, that’s kind of my point. It was never widely considered a fine piece of art, and it definitely was never considered a shining example of women’s issues in film, so why examine it in that context now? Simply because “MeToo” exists? I’m just tired

I’d say it’s a cult classic for a reason - it’s a fun, goofy, guilty pleasure. Now I’m honestly not trying to be a jerk, but this trend of mocking old movies that haven’t aged well is getting very tiresome. We know, attitudes change and then things don’t seem PC anymore. Shocking.

It wouldn’t negate the point for people in trusting relationships. I would love if my husband could do this because I personally can’t use hormonal birth control.

Thanks!!

Thank you! I’ll keep on the lookout for that. Is there a specific brand that makes the facial lotion that’s coming in December?

Oh awesome! Thanks for telling me, I’ll definitely try it out now.

Thanks for responding, I’m pretty curious about the Sun Milk stuff now...

Thanks! That sounds awesome, I’ll look into it.
