the gangnam style dance oh wait, white,

That’s like saying you can’t own a song, cause we all have voices. Can’t own a book, cause we all have fingers to write. Can’t own a game, cause can all type code. Absurd argument.

Every time I read about EVE I think to myself, “Wow, that sounds incredible. I want to be part of that.” Then I remember when I actually tried to play EVE, and I get exhausted just thinking about it and take a nap instead.

I would like to remind everyone that this is not censorship and that Playtonic as a private business has the right to express itself as they see fit. If they do not wish to include voice work by a controversial figure in their video game that is well within their right. Jon’s free speech was not violated in any way

you had me at love child of Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy Tactics... two of the greatest games ever made.

Obviously I’m not talking about games that tie directly to other games. Don’t be that guy.

Congratulations, you found the right answer

I agree; I never really considered that the games ought to have some sort of chronological context. They share major elements of course, but to me they’re all just renditions of the formula and are unique enough that they don’t need or even necessarily benefit from linearity.

This. The whole timeline theory always reeked of fan theories that Nintendo semi-embraced with conveniently vague retconning. The idea of connecting the entire series just seems like an after thought to me, and I have my doubts that Nintendo themselves even have a concrete idea. They just made a game and maybe they’ll

Fuck timelines. Everything was fine when they were all just different stories with recurring elements. Not everything has to be one big universe.

That timeline is not official. It was a fan creation floating around on the internet for years before the Historia was released. It didn’t come from Nintendo, and has been contradicted directly by people at Nintendo, including Miyamoto in the Historia itself.

I just don’t see how the timeline is relevant. To use the earliest example, we know that LTTP happens way before the original LoZ. So? It doesn’t actually mean anything within the context of those games or any other ones. Any connections are so flimsy that they might as well be winks and nods - effectively fanservice.

See, I always just assumed that each Zelda game was effectively a reboot from a story perspective and that they all stood alone with no connections to any other Zelda (with a few exceptions like Majora’s Mask). To me trying to fit all of them into one Timeline is like trying to sort all of Hawkman’s backstories into

This is perfect. Lets talk about this.

Jon Stewart would never do a bit like this because he had a sense of empathy and a basic respect for humanity. It’s why he never seemed to be punching down — even when he brutally took people to task. He always made sure he was making fun of people for the right reasons.

Thanks for the counter-point and downright catty finish. You’re a fun read!

Lots of kanji share the meaning of the Chinese characters they’re borrowed from. That’s the point they’re making.

the Chinese version of this idiom is tiger head, snake tail (虎頭蛇尾).

The color values on the new characters are too close together (less contrast), making them look washed out, which is especially apparent when the background uses higher contrast values. Plus, they’re blurry af.
