I don’t think it’s at all fair to Capaldi. Or when people blame Coleman. Neither of them have done anything wrong, and if they have any creative control, it’s surely only a modicum. They’re both fantastic actors who have been a wonderful job with what they’ve been given, it’s just what they’ve been given that’s, er...

I didn’t read Clara’s phone conversation with the Doctor about his death as her being awful but as her having a deep-seated abandonment complex and unresolved grief over Danny’s death. These are vibes I’d gotten from her for a while, but they didn’t make themselves as clear until this episode.

If she had shown the ghost she knew he was there or saw him first instead of feeling the vibes, she probably would’ve got that axe buried in her face. It was a tactical thing. She had the element of surprise, sort of.
Plus, she probably noticed the vibrations underfoot and was checking to get a better read on them.

Well, there WAS a mention of a “War Minister” or something like that... oh shit

I’d so watch that.

Same. And looking at it in hindsight, I’m glad they did it that way. Since there are plenty of parallels to The Impossible Astronaut here, I’m gonna go ahead and say that this two-parter one-upped that.
Because the solution wasn’t hidden in a seemingly one-off episode right before this, but in the previous part of the

Not gonna lie, it’d be extremely interesting if he DID die (seemingly?) in the middle of the season and then the focus shifts to Clara with the Paternoster Gang trying to figure out what to do.

People are defecting not due to Capaldi being an old man but because the show under Moffat has the same lazy problems as it always has.
Don’t blame this on young people. Every Whovian starts somewhere, and there’s no need to be a prick about it.

I haven’t seen people quitting due to Clara, but I’ve seen people quit in droves because of Moffat.

As I mentioned in a different comment, some people pick their own names for many reasons and they/their names shouldn’t be shamed either. But you make a very good point. Sometimes the bias isn’t even unconcious and sometimes bias is putting it too kindly:

Some people do pick their names though for a multitude of reasons - witness protection, being transgender, changing it to keep harassers away, or overall not feeling it that isn’t related to the aforementioned - and they deserve zero hate either. Power to peoples’ names, regardless of if they’re assigned or chosen.

wow, I’d have never guessed IronMaidenForm had so many various meanings! ;)

Gender =/= presentation. And pronouns =/= gender, but in this show specifically the latter isn’t something that has yet been questioned - they LITERALLY refer to Ruby with she pronouns. Ruby isn’t a boy. It’s on you for assuming so, not the show.

There are more than two genders.

Ruby and Sapphire literally kiss. Well,

My point was R+S is a more valid example of representation for this specific discussion because it was on the same network and it’s proof that a show that would have a same-gender cancel wouldn’t be immediately blackballed or canceled. And for reference I’m not crashing Korrasami or anything either, I still cry in joy

Or, perhaps, it was something that Pearl had reclaimed by that point and told Rose she could use it in that way to signify their love bond and different hierarchy.

The amount of rape that happens on this show is appalling.

Cartoon Network is (in)famous for illogical scheduling, so I’m not surprised to hear that. Does the season hold up better if you do a rewatch on your own time? I saw a few episodes but I’m just wonderin
