What kills me about these “This is terrible for the NBA” pieces is that we JUST saw this happen when Lebron went to Miami. That was only six years ago. And not only was it not a disaster, it was the best thing that happened to the league. In fact, if Lebron doesn’t jump to Miami, then viewership doesn’t jump, which…
Moving into that territory this season seems plausible. Dr. Strange drops in the fall, and you figure the show will have some kind of tie in.
Holy shit, is the NHLPA just as terrible as the NFLPA? I didn’t think it was possible. This all seems completely insane.
Lebron’s the only guy playing it this way. Even KD will probably take the longer guaranteed deal this summer. Most guys understand the risks involved in that strategy. Those risks don’t really apply to Lebron because A) he’s forged from an admantium-vibranium alloy and never gets hurt and B) he’s classified as a deity…
If Disney did get the Fantastic Four back, then maybe it would make more sense to have them as one of their TV properties. They’ve had three bites at the apple on the big screen in the last decade or so, and they’ve all been misses. You could have them start out as part of an arc on AoS, then spin them off. Or maybe…
Fuuuuck...that was entirely unpleasant. I’m impressed that the writers were thinking about such topics, but glad that it wasn’t in the final product.
I get that. I guess I’m just surprised that countries like Spain and Argentina haven’t been able to sustain. The impression a few years ago was the U.S. was falling behind in development. So I assumed that these countries would continue to develop and roll out strong teams. That doesn’t appear to be the case though.…
Why does it feel like international competition has kind of cratered? The countries that really challenged and even beat the US 2000-2006 haven’t been able to replenish their squads. I’m always going to root for the US, but I like for them to get pushed. The ‘08 as probably the coolest that I can remember because it…
Cool that Rogue One will tie in to the Star Wars animated series. Though when I first heard the rumor that they might do that, I was hoping it would be Kanan or Ezra from Rebels.
Yeah, I think Pratt might be a little bit too much of a lunk for it. And Ackles is good too, though I’m not sure if he can pull off Indy’s earnestness. What about Aaron Johnson?
Admittedly, its much more complicated than casting Bruce Wayne/Batman or James Bond, where you sort of expect each actor to bring his own interpretation. There is a very narrow lane for getting Indy right, and thus there aren’t that many actors who’ll be able to find it. But its not impossible.
Ford will be pushing 80 by the time Indy 5 hits. I know he gave birth to the character, but if people want to see more stories, then we’re long past the time when someone else should be playing the part. Recast and reboot, or don’t make anymore.
Teams in bad markets are already overpaying. Honestly, if a market isn’t desirable to players, then the league probably shouldn’t be there.
With so much of the world being so breathtakingly shitty, at least we know that the dude who played Luke is a legitimately cool and decent human being.
Still the best Transformers movie. I still get choked up when Arcee drags in Wheeljack and Windcharger’s bodies.
That’s so great. Kyrie’s mini-breakdown there was just enormously entertaining.
All of this. What’s funny is, I haven’t been this positive on ESPN’s rotation in years. If they can somehow manage to push Stephen A off a cliff, I’d be back on the bandwagon.
It wouldn’t hurt anything. I don’t have a problem with it, other than it misreads the relationship as its always existed. Its like saying two male characters can’t possibly have a intimate relationship without it being romantic. Even if we ignore the comics and focus strictly on the movies, Bucky has always been a…
Is there anyone who would argue with this? Sitting here right now, I can think of about a dozen different perfect episodes.
