Definitely not sure, just the few cases I’m familiar with seem to support that ruling. Passwords are protected under rights against self-incrimination but yeah, that could change tomorrow.

Another reason to use a passcode and not a thumbprint. Recently the courts have ruled that police can compel you to open your phone with your print, but they can’t compel you to give up a password.

I think the argument is that the search was based on what appears to be an illegal search. A search for evidence related to a crime he’d already confessed to committing. I’m not saying I’d be able to do 180 days in jail but this is shady at best.

Most of the bio-mechanical parts didn’t change, but somehow they get lost in the movement in Aliens. You may have seen this, but here’s a great comparison of the two designs, down to the toes. If you as me, the biggest sin of Aliens is not including Giger in the redesign.

I can’t argue that the Alien design is much creepier and has a greater WTF element built into its design, but I don’t agree that the Aliens xeno is a generic bug monster. In hindsight it’s influenced so much (and been watered down to look ridiculous in movies live AvP) that I think it’s tempting to call it generic…

I don’t understand why red state Democrats think that voting to confirm will somehow help them get re-elected. No GOP opponent is going to pause to give them credit and they’ll just anger the Democrats who would vote for them. It’s a lose-lose situation but that still doesn’t mean I trust them to make the right call.

Sure, but how? GOP has the numbers to push it through with 0 Dems. So, even if we manage to keep all Dems on board, we still need to flip two Republicans. I just don’t see that happening.
