Anyone know why these are still flying? This looks to me like a huge waste of money.

Decent Integras are almost impossible to find, and the prices are still high. That Celica is actually impossible to find.
Great piece. I normally turn to Jalopnik for insanity, but the occasional dose of sanity is great, too, especially when debunking a bogus trend story like this.
I still remember C&D's profile of Schultz in connection with the introduction of this car. He seemed insane in the most Jalop of ways. I'd still beat up a nun for a ride in an Imperator.

The point of a CNG vehicle is reduction of urban air pollution. Local governments operate a whole lot of light trucks, and many of those entities are mandating CNG or other lower-emissions vehicles for their fleet purchasing. Ford could probably get away with charging $10K more per truck.
It was price and catastrophically bad marketing. Infinity really had no idea what it was in those days, and an overpriced sedan was a tough sell. Infinity was basically trying to cobble together a product lineup to match Lexus's expanded offerings. There was no plan, really.
As soon as someone explains the relationship between market share and shareholder value, I'm going to care a lot more about who's No. 1.
You can still buy lots of Lotus clothes, and they have a whole page dedicated to "lifestyle," but on the bright side, I couldn't find any Lotus-branded cologne.

There are a number of well-documented reasons why the Beretta sucked ass, not least of which was that it screamed that the driver couldn't afford a Camaro. But the thing I'll always hate it for the most is the styling. Not only was it ugly as homemade sin, it was the pinnacle of the Incoherent Beltline era of…
Let's get on down the road.
Ah. The 850 changed.
FF, no?
Why are manufacturers still chasing volume at the expense of profit? Maybe there's something about the industry I just don't understand. The point is to make money, right?
Where's the shame part?
Integra sedan. Fun, little, cheap running sedan with a stick. I'd drive one today.
No better road trip vehicle. You can actually enjoy talking with your friends; it holds all their stuff; you arrive still comfortable; and it doesn't burn through the gas like a Suburban.
